Democrats are framed as failing in showing courage to Bush.

1. Buchanan says that Democrats don't have the courage of their convictions.

2. Anytime they make a move they get attacked anytime they don't
make a move they get attacked...it's a no one for them. Their only mandate is that they need to heed the American people and the votes cast last November....

6. Unfortunately Congressional Dems asked for this.
We're now portrayed as flip flopping cowards, cowering in fear of the rightwing spin machine. Mandate be damned.

Meanwhile people are dying every day in Iraq.

13. Republics got punished in November for what they didn't do about Iraq.
I don't want Dems to get similarly punished in 2008.

18. It IS Dimson's debacle, but they will pin it on us if they can.
The Democratic leaders just need to do the correct thing. Murtha had an awesome bill, even the wingnuts said it was brilliant. Pelosi should have let it be debated and voted on. So the fuck what if some whiny Blue Dog Dems didn't like it. Can't please everybody!

17. Yeah, but the Democrats are not really in a position to do what this...
dick weed is saying they should be able to do.... If they had several more Senate seats, they could then be criticized for not getting our troops out of Iraq... The vote was 56 - 34 I think it was, and they did their best IMHO.... I don't like the fact that it was non binding but be that as it may.... I can't see blaming them because the Republics got us into this over the last six years by not standing up to Bush and A...holes...

19. I'm just saying they should take a stand, and keep forcing the debate.
Pelosi has a lot more power than Reid. She could let Murtha present his bill, have it debated and voted on. It probably wouldn't get past a Senate filibuster, but at least the public would KNOW Dems are doing everything in their power to stop this hideous occupation.

22. I don't disagree with that... My thoughts are that we need someone...
like Murtha as Speaker and someone like Russ Finegold as Senate Majority.... I realize I will probably get flamed for this, but we really need people that tell it like it is.... Piss on the Diplomacy side at this point, just drill em and get on with it... Murtha tells it like it is and so does Finegold...

23. I was just thinking today that Feingold should be Senate leader!
Murtha would be awesome in the House also. I had high hopes for Pelosi, but am becoming disillusioned.

26. I honest to God believe that the American people would love to...
have some Democrats stand up to Bush, (Like Jim Webb did) and get right in his face... Tell him exactly what you think of him, and tell him what you as Speaker of the house plans to do about it, and also Majority Senate leader.... The hell with letting this little cow-boy POS intimidate... Just get in his face and stay in his face...

Yes, we have many dying there, but were going to have one hell of allot more dying if this Psycho is able to somehow hit Iran..... That scares the living shit outta me...

24. The IWR needs to be abolished.
Kucinich has a Bill to Withdraw the US Troops. The Dem leadership needs to get on board with those two issues now.Leave 30K Troops to fight al Q in Anbar and withdraw the rest seems to be a logical concept.
