IF we fail to hold torturers accountable, then WE MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE....

Allowing known torturers to act 'in our name and on our behalf' AND not bring charges against them means we have condoned their behavior.

Allowing our elected representatives to ignore their responsibility to bring 'torturers' to the bar of justice and hold them accountable, means they are responsible as well.

THis is indeed a moral issue, and stands to erode the foundation on which our free and open represenative democracy was established.

How will we ever point the finger at human rights abuses in other countries if we do not clean up our own first?

It is simply heartbreaking, not to mention dangerous for all who serve overseas on our behalf.
