WOW: Ed Shultz has spent last hour talking about Democrats NOT ending war fast enough
Edited on Wed Feb-28-07 05:12 PM by yurbud
He just said, what's different now that Democrats are in majority on the war? Would it be any different if Tom Delay were still in charge?

He's still going. Tune in.

5. Yep he has. He's RIGHT! Said the Dems are afraid of the
30 second sound bite, of the flip/flop lable, and that they don't have the media backup for their position.

I admit, he's right on all counts, but I'm not surehow I feel about how the Dems are handling this. They can deal with the 30 second sound bite, but it's impossible for them to win if the media is against them. I'm not sure what I would do, because I'm NOT willing to give upan 08 win in exchange for sticking to our position against the war today!

12. Dems fear of "looking weak" has lost them how many elections until they
squeaked by in the last one? Fear of looking "weak" cost them not investigating the Voting Machines and Election Disenfrachisement of thousands of Americans election after election. Fear of "looking weak" gave Bush EVERY Appointment he wanted even when Jeffords party switch gave us a majority in the Senate.

Fear of "looking weak" causes Harry Read to shut down Senate over Part II or Sentate Intelligence Report and the Repugs still held it up. Fear of "looking weak" allowed Harry Reid to call back Senate for Cloture Vote on Iraq" and in the end the Press played it as a LOSS for DEMS.

They are so worried about looking WEAK that they LOOK WEAK and people see them as spineless.

They've spent tons of money on George Lakoff's Training Sessions about how to FRAME ISSUES and what have they learned. Either they are bought off, paid off or just Toadies.

I hate to be so harsh on them...and Pelosi/Murtha and the Black Caucus are the hero's in the House...but what about our preening Senators? Yeah we are a tenuous Majority because of "Holy Joe" but the Repugs are still managing to rule the Roost as the Minority while all our Dems just wrung their hands and whined about having "no power" ...no votes...skullduggery in the Rules, yadda...yadda..yadda.

Enough is enough...and now they are throwing their Progressive/Activists (the little donors who were their troops on the ground) under the bus. :nuke: It's disgusting.

9. I admit to often being critical of Big Eddie, and don't like his brash delivery - but...
today I found myself agreeing with him 100%. The electorate sent a message in November, and, aside from some quick hits with watered down legislation, not much has happened. I recall when Hamilton, at release of the Iraq Study group findings, said it was a matter of days or weeks...and yet it has been months. The whole thing is being white washed - injuries reported are 1/10 of actual. Walter Reed. Getting rid of justices that don't march the Right line.

If it weren't so pathetic, it could be almost funny - the scope of the inaction, the concern with soundbites - essentially running afraid of the media and the minority party.

If this isn't bizarro world, nothing is!

13. I love how he said...
By taking impeachment off the table we have given Bush the right to do whatever he wants. Go ahead, Mr. President. Do whatever you want. There are no consequences.

17. I get so tired of this unproductive name calling.
I don't think there's a talk show host around that I'm gonna agree with 100%, but to call names because you don't like the way he looks or the timber of his voice is just as bad as saying you don't like his religion or the color of his skin and that is racist. Ed Schultz is mostly on our side and if he does or doesn't get along with other talk show hosts is his and their problems, not mine or frankly yours either.

19. This crap just weakens us.
Edited on Wed Feb-28-07 07:13 PM by Kelly Rupert
Yeah, the thing about the Senate is you need 60 votes to get anything controversial done. If the Republicans want to filibuster, they can obstruct anything we do. But we shouldn't blame the Democrats for that; all that does is weaken us with pointless infighting.

What we should do is blame the Republicans for keeping us from so much as having a debate on the war, and blame them loudly. While attacking our own makes for radio drama, it doesn't do anything productive.

20. I like Schultz a lot, not as much as some others, but a lot.
He's a good antidote to the Limbaugh and Hannity screamers and their ilk. What's wrong with screaming back when you're right and you're speaking from the high ground of right and justice and PEACE?

These right wing nuts won't listen to anything but screaming. It's all they understand, and there is a large audience for VOLUME, among both men and women. And when you're screaming truth and honesty, you can scream louder and longer. There's some kind of psychological law that covers that. You can also sleep better at night. But you've got to do it! You can't play footsy with these nuts and blowhards. If you're right, scream as loud as you have to in my opinion, especially about this insanity and blasphemy in Iraq.

Dems should have been screaming bloody murder years ago even louder than Ed screams it.

Keep it up Ed. If you're speaking the truth with a good heart, you won't run out of steam. If you're living right and your cause is right, you can tell anybody to go to hell, and then get back to your own message and your own life.

Keep it up.

21. Impeachment or impotence.
Courage or Cowardice.

Duty or Complicity.

Their choice is a no-brainer.

(Perhaps they have to check their brains at the door? A new "security" measure?)

22. Spoken like a true arm-chair quaterback...
Next thing you know, Ed will be bitching about "carrying the water" for the Democrats. :eyes:

How like him to start popping off before he does any reserach on how political processes are done. Hey Ed, if you think its so easy to fix the giant quagmire in two months that the Republicans have been turning a blind eye to for the past 4 years, then run for office.

23. I condider myself Right-Center...
I have heard him state that the votes aren't there to do anything to Bush. I think he was having a bad day today, but if you go for the throat, even if it doesn't pass, respect will be earned. In my way of thinking, the other side is going to state "Weak on Terror, and Anti-American, and Anti-Troops" no matter what is done, so give them a reason to be pissed and go about your business. If the other side speaks with enough repetition, it starts to be believed. Well, two can play at that game and our country wins!
