Inhofe is a piece of shit who pulls a lot of Rovian-type crap in order to win. My mother is a bush supporting RWer and she'll tell you how big of a slime Inhofe is.

The bad thing is when he uses wedge issues like guns and gawd...he gets votes. That's not to mention the money he's tied into.

I grew up in Oklahoma and his tactics were well-known.

A Blue Dog Dem might be able to beat him if he or she is willing to go toe to toe with Inhofe. They'd have to be willing to be blunt and not be above fighting dirty themselves. IMO, that's the only way a person would have a shot at beating Inhofe.

"One day he (Inhofe) walked into the office and said, 'I just rode up the elevator with Barney Frank (an openly gay congressman). And I told him that I've never met a real queer before. I hope I didn't catch AIDS,'" Miller said.

it's why his staff insists on such incredibly favorable "debate" terms, like keeping Bunning in a closed studio, having the debate during business hours instead of prime time, and forbidding anyone from rerunning any of the footage. The insane thing was that everyone agreed to it.
