Easter snuck right up on us this year.

The Paschal Full Moon.

It's not every year that St. Patrick's Day falls in Holy Week. The last time that happened was in 1940.

In Ireland, Catholic bishops moved up St. Patrick's Day a couple of days this year so the celebration would
not inappropriately interfere with somber Holy Week ceremonies.

While Easter will be celebrated earlier than usual this year, ecclesiastic dictates have little to do with it.

According to the almanacs, Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday after the first full moon after
the vernal equinox. Because the vernal equinox (or first day of spring) was Thursday and the moon
will be full tonight, Easter falls this Sunday.

2. But Orthodox Easter

7. It was either the full moon or their desperation to get away for the weekend
I saw more SUVs loaded up with families on the road this morning, all driving
like bats out of hell on their way to Easter weekend (!).

8. They were probably in a hurry to catch a plane to warmer climates!
Yesterday, I was tailgated by many a-holes. I was doing the speed limit, in a school zone!!! :grr:
And I slowed off the main drag, in order to turn into my driveway and got beeped at and they
flipped me the bird! How dare I slow down to go home! :eyes: I can't stand people like that!
Then I go home and the moon looked full last night and i thought the same as you! ;)
