Outside the US, the jewish gift giving holiday is Purim, not Chanukkah.

4. Well, considering that when he attended the Conservative Party Conference in the UK..

he expressed his desire to 'spread Republicanism around the globe', this seems merely par for the course. So far as I know, no other country besides America calls its conservative party 'Republican'; and in England, 'Republican' means either anti-monarchy, or in favour of Northern Ireland leaving the UK for the Republic of Ireland - neither of which is a view that your average English Conservative would exactly support with any enthusiasm!
