The way the U.S. just gave up & died after 9-11, was it WORTH IT?
The way we all turned our heads and let tyrants take over our land, start illegal wars, kill a million people, send 4000 soldiers to their graves, torture unknown thousands to death, and bring the nazis back from hell to rule over us, was it worth it?

The way we've just allowed these monsters to get away with whatever atrocity they can dream up, the way they've turned the whole world against us, the way we've allowed them to rob us blind and ruin our economy, all in the name of safety and security and uninterrupted shopping, was it worth it?

All the dead, all the tyranny, all the torture, all the piracy and corruption, all the fascism, all the insults, all the racism, all the paranoia, all the hatred, all the rising gas and food prices, all the uncertainty, all the arrogance, all the fear, all the terror, all the panic and all the lies, was it all worth it?

You bet it was. The people who did all this, with our unfettered approval, made out like bandits, so yes, it was all worth it, in real cash dollars and cents. Worth every fucking dime.

Now, would it be worth it to impeach the assholes or punish them for their many, many atrocities and crimes? Nah, that would just be too much trouble. It just ain't worth it.

1. fuckin' A
IMPEACH now.
i dread thinking about what's in the future when we don't. and i hate believing that we won't. but that's the writing on the wall.
i am so pissed i'm on the verge of just turning away. a body can't take this shit relentlessly forever. and it's been years, years and years.

you've framed it in a powerful way. i can't argue your point, i agree completely. IMPEACH now.
and end the occupations

2. You are right on, Raptor....
You've framed this in a powerful way.

On first reading, I thought you were talking about the "Islamofascists" who allegedly did this to us, but I see you're referring to our very own monsters. The death of our country can be entirely put at the feet of CheneyBush Inc. False Flag. And we colluded in our own destruction.

4. For the PNAC
it was dream come true. Thats why I am convinced Bush/Cheney knew an attack was imminent and just let it happen. They knew a catastrophic event would allow them to pursue their goals unfettered by those annoying American laws so they LET IT HAPPEN. Color coded terrorist alerts, anthrax, false stories of false threats...all the doing of a regime hell bent on hijacking Americas military to use it to secure more oil and threaten the world.

If you are card carryin member of the PNAC hell yes it was worth it. If you are an average citizen of this nation just trying to earn an honest living...not so much. Under Cheney/Bush this nation has become an evil cesspool of fear and threats and lies.

8. People beholden to military-industrial complex don't make such plans and then hope for a green light
They make sure the plans will be implemented, the power structure remains as is, and quite profitable. It doesn't boil down to random coincidence.

15. I believe, and always will believe, that they let it happen.
9/11 allowed these criminals to put their evil plan into action with little or no resistance. If someone spoke up, it was easy to silence them..."We are keeping America safe."

I never in my wildest dreams imagined that our country would be taken over by criminals like these. They are an 8 year black mark on the history of this country.

what is being done in our names, and it will continue on until WE THE PEOPLE make a stand. After Cheney blatant remark, they do not give a shit what we think.

5. Great piece - K&R
Clearly worth it to the pigs at the trough.
Let's not forget the pigs on WS who bungled their way into multi-million $ bonuses and left the bill for us to pay.
If there is no justice for this bunch, our country is dead.

As a country, we collectively went insane on that day.

America, "America" on that day.

7. what it showed was that, rather than being the 'home of the brave'
the average US citizen is a gullible, sniveling coward, ready to surrender anything to the oligarchs in return for empty assurances of 'safety'.

For those few of us deemed "not team players"
life steadily gets increasingly difficult.

11. That's an interesting way of discribing what has become
clearer and clearer everyday. I often wonder how many here at D.U. can drive home at 1:00 A.M. from work without being followed by police tailing you with there brights in your review until you move over the line and they stop you for moving over the line. Thank goodness it is illigal to stop someone from moving over the line as of this month in my state. Just imagine that the four hours of police questioning and blood draw because they want to know what perscriptions your on. They have to keep the communtiy safe....Imagine DRE police from the next town who is a specialist determines your mentally alert and not under the influence of any drugs, but that physically he has written in his report that you say you have a disease "but that you don't say it", it is acually a mistake or worse he is telling the government that your diesease is one that prohibits you from driving. O the fun we could have with this story......We have a sign in our yard that says, bring them home.....We have had that sign taken from our yard and placed at the police station and then had them come back to get the next one, and let us know that it is the second time and now no longer a warning, and a ticket will be issued for breaking the law... Our property has been destroyed, our phone calls dropped or annoying disruptive noise that may or may not be investigated. The Public service commission in my state has assured me that I have a right to functioning phones, but they do not respond to my letters requesting an investigation.....Let me know how many of you have access to your insurance or if it's been denied. Has your home been devalued while they build million dollar condos less than a mile away in your same village...Did the house with the same bedrooms and bathrooms as yours sell for over 100,000 more than they are valuing your almost similiar house????? Well, then this is the world you are living in if you have said no to this way of life after 9-11!!!!!!!! Let me know how many of you there are of us.....Please don't bring up the ACLU they are not interested. It truely is up to each of us....We need to go beyond our safe zones that exist only in our past....

Congress doesn't have time to be bothered with such trivial matters.

17. As with most empires throughout history, I believe we've become a victim of our own success.
Too comfortable with our own material conveniences, too trusting of the all powerful talking heads and their infinite wisdom in being able to enter our homes every day and night via the magical mystical television box.

Why should the votes be counted during a disputed Presidential election, that's hard work and our nerves can't take the suspense, and don't you need a degree in rocket science to do all that counting? There just aren't enough Indians in America to do that job, voting for American Idol is much easier.

It's much easier to just go along and not rock the boat, surely the powers that pee must know what is best, all will be well. Go back to sleep after you finish shopping, because the one thing our nation needs, is more debt.

Furthermore we’re not really torturing people like these guys did, we’re just concerned regarding their lack of hydration, so we have to be harsh with them, drink damn it, drink!

21. We could try to turn things around ...
... by investing what's left of our national treasury into energy infra-structure, and meeting the challenges of the future realistically. And, BTW, we could extradite Rumsfeld for his war crimes, and let him face the Hague. I think he might face a hell of a lot more steep punishment than impeachment.
