Fallon 'may lose job over Iran war'

According to a new Esquire article by Thomas Barnett; Admiral Fallon may be prematurely 'relieved of his command' as soon as this summer to be replaced with a more 'pliable' commander.

"If that were to happen, it may well mean that the president and vice-president intend to take military action against Iran before the end of this year and don't want a commander standing in their way," says the article which will be published on March 12.

The military is almost broken. We don't have the manpower to go to war with Iran without opening our own backsides up and abandonding all our other foreign commitments.

I'm cool the "all volunteer" peacetime Army. During wartime, if it lasts more 16 months, I think have to draft replacements. That way there are new guys ready to come in at two years. Nobody should have to risk life and limb for over that amount of time. A country goes to war, not a select few who were "re-volunteered" by their selfish commander in chief.

20. What seems frighteningly clear to me is that Bush is actually planning to strike Iran before he

leaves office. Adm. Fallon was the main thing standing in the way of that happening, and now he is gone.
If Bush/Cheney were not trying to achieve this, then why would Fallon not have stayed on until a new administration
is in power, i.e. November?
