Michaela Criss has an unbelievable story to tell her daughter Manya someday.
A story of how when the child was just 3 years old, no one could find her.
Michaela Criss is reunited with her daughter, Manya, after the little girl was missing for several hours Monday night.
Of how more than 300 people searched inside garbage bins, on top of garage roofs, along creek beds, in city sewers and inside homes for Manya in the area of 96th and Q Streets. How searchers used cars, horses, dogs and even a helicopter to try to find her.
Of how family, friends and complete strangers worried, cried and prayed. Of how they pulled together on a cold March night and never gave up.
And in the end, after all that fuss, friends found Manya sleeping comfortably in a bed inside their warm apartment nearby. A happy ending to a dramatic story.
For now, many also are marveling at the story of how the community pulled together during the almost four-hour search.
