5 U.S soldiers killed in bombing in Iraq..vs Governor goes to prostitute...
Which story is more important?
Which story will get top billing tonight?
Which story will more people remember tomorrow?
Which story will get more air time on the news today?
Which story,.. in the long run, will destroy more families and hurt more people?
Which story makes you feel worse, and why?
Do you think it is a fair question to ask?
What do you think?

...............................................................................................................

I think it is nuts. Sure, Governor and a prostitute .. is great news...please enjoy......
....Elliot is trash now, and forever.. But he will live....
...........But some have died, and more will die.

1. Which one happens every week?
People focus on the rarer events. It doesn't do anything to diminish the constant, dull ache of their knowledge of the war, though some may be trying to drown it in their rage or jubilation.

11. The scandal will be that she finally mated after all these years,
then promptly bit off the head of the unsuspecting male, and proceeded to lay six million eggs.

2. I;'ll take Governor goes to prostitute for 1000 Alex
after all, it is easier to keep the sheeple tilltilated with prostitute story and troops MIGHT remind them of the war o'er there, (and it is now eight troops who ain't coming home, so raise that to 1600 Alex or better yet make it a daily double.

P.T. Barnum would be proud today..

3. Also while we are setting here trashing each other our economy
is going down the tubes...sometimes I think we are putting all our rage over what is going on in this country in this election...we don't have to think about really bad things going on in this county..my number #1 gripe is that we sit here letting war criminals run this country...

19. the people in European countries know more about what is
happening in the world than us, we are force fed infotainment by this disgusting media. Educate yourself and seek sites that will give you the news. The dumbing down of Americans continues and never ceases.

15. What kills me is this morning they are treating the 8 soldiers killed as Breaking News!!
It broke yesterday at NOON TIME!! :wtf:

BUT... they didn't report it in full until @ 5:30 PM and then only briefly
and then the nightly national news gave it short blip on ABC & PBS but NBC
& CBS didn't say a word. I was actively searching between all those channels
looking for any news and that was my observation. The Eliot Spitzer story
IS a BIG story but we all know the M$M has been obeying their corporate
masters and is actively squelching ANY talk that gives the impression that
the escalation isn't working!

BE THE Media because the media isn't doing their jobs. :grr:

16. 8 Soldiers killed in a single day, the economy is in the crapper and Good Morning America's lead
story is.......

the Spitzer SEX SCANDAL!!!

People are struggling to feed their families and keep their homes, the families and friends of eight soldiers have had their lives shattered, but the MOST important story is a sex scandal.

I can't turn the damn boob tube off fast enough.

18. Four children die in row house fire v. five soldiers die in Iraq
Which story makes you feel worse and why?

http://www.wgal.com/news/15551968/detail.html

My point is that what is in the headlines at any given moment is (a) fluctuating and (b) an exercise in news judgment. The casualties in Iraq are important news, and they were referenced on the front page of my daily paper this morning. A scandal that is likely to force the resignation of the governor of the second largest state in the US, a politician who many thought might play a role on the national stage in the future and who made his reputation as a tough on crime, Mr Clean - guy? Well, that's pretty big news, too.

20. The Spitzer story in imminently more important
than five volunteer combatants getting wasted in a dead end war. How many IEd's have caused KIA's? Hundreds at the very least.

Call me when there's a Tet style offensive because until something like that happens to awaken the public the war will go on endlessly.

Spitzer was AG and under his command people were jailed, fined and had property confiscated for doing what he was doing. Gross hypocrisy & abuse of power from NY's top law man.

A bigger story than either is the US-Polish military alliance and how it will effect international relations, i.e. new Cold War.
