22. Well, prostitution is illegal
You can put a bug in a phone for reasons other than terrorism. As my cousin the bookie once found out.

30. This is a prostitution ring in Washington DC
I wonder for how long this "service" has been under investigation? Could the answer be; for the last 6 or 7 years?

25. Why not just the warrant by the judge
You do realize that the FBI has been putting bugs in phones and offices for decades, right?

The way they bugged Paul Castellano's house is a great story.

5. The wiretap recording, made during an investigation of a
prostitution ring called Emperors Club VIP,. Remember when the Judge told the ACLU they had to prove that people were being wiretapped. This is just getting more and more interesting.

9. My guess is: Nothing to do with FISA
They probably had a warrant to tap the hooker's phone.

38. Why would this have anything to do with FISA? You know what FISA is, right?
This is a criminal investigation, which means they were damn careful to get a warrant. Otherwise, their evidence is out and the case is worthless.

was he a "target"?

It's a valid question about any prosecutions with a corrupt DOJ.

I was just making the distinction between the illegal warrantless wiretapping and legal wiretapping.

34. Maybe not to you
But it would to many other Americans.

However, I suspect considering the nature of the investigation this one would have been a warranted wiretap.

32. Probably a lot more hooker talk
The tap was on the prostitution ring's phone. Not Spitzer's.

That's why he is listed as Client 9.

Clients 1 through 8 are probably very nervous right now.

He was into rough stuff and went out of his way to be secretive. The media is going to have a field day.

Alcoholics shouldn't be pilots, crackheads should not be surgeons, maybe sex addicts should stay out of politics.

Or potentially under federal investigation. Not a good idea to call bookies, escort rings, mobsters, etc.

D-I-V-E-R-S-I-O-N! "The run-up to the invasion of Afghanistan took place while Americans were distracted with a tawdry sex scandal of Gary Condit and Levy.

Is history repeating? Are we being distracted from something we ought to be paying attention to?"
