A reason to save our anger for the Republicans
And not keep tearing each other apart because of the candidates we support.

A little over a month ago my sister was laid off from her mortgage underwriting job when her company closed the branch office in which she worked. About 200 people from that office lost their jobs and another 800 or so from other offices.

On their last day, people went around collecting email addresses so everyone could keep in touch, both on a personal level and for networking. So far almost no one has found employment and they're looking for anything in the financial services sector, since the mortgage business is pretty much gone. A little panic has started to set in.

On March 1st, one of her former co-workers - a 52 year old woman - committed suicide. Her husband said she was deeply depressed over the loss of her job and the lack of prospects in finding another. It's a shock to her family and a real shock to her co-workers, who remembered her as an outstanding worker and a genuinely nice person.

My sister is both deeply distressed and angry. Her take on the mortgage crisis? That Bush's big-money investers thought the housing market was so hot it would never cool down, and wanted more and more portfolios. At about the same time the standards and regulations in the mortage industry went down and down. She's been doing this for most of her adult life and knew that something was wrong, as did her other experienced co-workers. Coincidence? She doesn't think so. She puts this one squarely on George Bush and while his friends get richer people on the short end of this game end up taking their own lives. Now she expects the investors to get some sort of bailout. They buried her co-worker yesterday.

Can we save our anger for the greed and avarice of the Republican party that's been looting and pillaging like Vikings? Jesus Christ. If I hear one more person say they won't vote for this Democratic candidate or another I want to vomit. These are real lives being destroyed.

3. DINOs
Are people who say they will not vote for the dem candidate. They are useless trolls who should be tombstoned upon sight. IMO.

Or we can hold their hands and put up with their bs.

5. Welcome To General Discussion...A Little Sanity
Seems like when people slip over to the darkside of GD-P, they come back feeling all soiled and angry. I scan there but have long disconnected from the Silly Season and the poo being flung by proxies and passions. I would submit that there are many, many who feel that way...content on letting this nomination play itself out and seeing good things in it rather than negatives.

THe more primaries that are contested means the more people are involved...more record turn-outs for Democrats and people who will remain energized into the general election. It means each candidate gets more battle tested...and if it means against each other...well this is what the silly season is about...it's an endurance contest as much as its a test of ideologies...and the ability to respond and, in some cases, attack, will be important skills to have when facing a caged repugnican spin machine seeing its power slipping away. People want change...and no matter if its Obama or Clinton, there is going to be a change. The corporate media can spin as they want, but the shear numbers speak volumes.

There are also a lot of great Progressive candidates working to win House and Senate seats...people who will be the foot soldiers in pushing Progressive ideals and legislation...this election is giving more attention to these people...and in turn, I suspect we'll see a synergy between the upper and lower tickets that could render the GOOP a devestating loss in November.

Lastly, now watch Grandpa become irrelevant while the Democratic primary plays out. All he can do it inject himself from the sidelines for the next 4 months and then have to pick his fights carefully...not only to energize the supporters of Clinton or Obama...but also to avoid the on-going sniping he'll have to deal with on his own rear. For the next several months, the Democrats now have center stage in states around the country that want to participate in spreading out chapter and verse the crimes and corruption of the GOOP and Gramps will have little money or platform to fire back from.

Relax and enjoy the show...GD has been well moderated and you'll see a lot of people seeing a far bigger picture than the one the proxies and corporate media want us to buy into.

Cheers...
