I'm a "Hater" and I Don't Care Who Knows It.
I hate George W. Bush and all of his criminal cronies.

I hate the members of Congress (Democrat and Republican) who have let him get away with his Crimes and Incompetence for the duration of his pResidency.

I hate the Republican Party and everything it stands for, including, but not limited to, its interest in denying women reproductive health rights, denying children the right to legally recognized two parent homes if their parents are gay, and their not-so-subtle "be afraid of anyone who isn't pasty white" message.

I hate what has been done to my country in the name of Fear and Terror.

I hate "airport security" when the lines are long, and I'm taking off my shoes because "box cutters" aren't made of metal that should have been detected on September 11, 2001. (Seriously, why doesn't anyone ever talk about the failure of the metal detectors, or the "magic" box cutters that were invisible to the screeners?)

I hate the "look to the future" crowd who are comfortable playing deaf to the cries for justice of the dead and wounded victims of Iraq, New Orleans, and the members of my Armed Forces whose lives and limbs were used like confetti at a "get rich by raping the American People's pocket book" party.

I hate the feeling of helplessness and nausea I feel whenever George W. Bush's face comes on the television, or his voice on the radio. I loathe him and his lies, and if my thoughts were powerful enough, the word LIAR would be permanently tattooed on his forehead. (Yes, I mentioned him before, but he's worth repeating since he's so disgusting.)

I hate the Republican Parrots who think that repeating lies ("weapons of mass destruction") often enough makes them true.

I hate the folks who believed them.

I'm a hater, and I think I represent the vast majority of this country. I want some loving from the folks running for office, but I'm not getting it, nor do I ever expect to receive it. (Which is why this isn't a Primary post.)

I think the single best thing that could happen to this country would be for the networks to start flashing the word "LIAR" over the head of every political pundit or politician whose "opinions" contradict known facts and reality, with a national reminder that "LIARS ARE BAD." Barring that, maybe Democrats who go on television could start making the letter "L" with their hands in a visible way whenever they are surrounded by right wing Losers who are spouting Blatant Nonsense.

I'm an optimist. Sigh. But I've learned to HATE with a passion that I never knew prior to the November 2000 Election, and I will *never* forget it.

Republicans are Evil, and I hate them.

Oh, and for the record, I also hate the folks who are going to reply to this thread saying "don't *hate* people -- I don't *hate* people, because I'm better than that" (in a really annoying condescending way). I don't care if you think you are a "better than me" liberal; I just think you are annoying.

2. THEY are the haters. They hate anything that will move the world forward.
They hate anything that will advance equality between all people. They hate anything that will empower the powerless. They hate charity. They hate forgiveness. They hate generosity. And they REALLY hate tolerance for anything they don't understand.

I hate the haters.

5. My sentiments exactly. Well said.
My husband and I have been to the point of morose over these past 7+ years. We have absolutely destroyed our standing in our neighborhood because of our letters to the editor. We are in a very 'red' section of Tennessee and they don't like 'our kind' 'round here. I've worked myself into a funk over our candidate since John Edwards suspended his campaign. Anyway, hope we can survive the next few months and come out ready to take on the world, literally, next January 9. If we nominated a box of rocks, it would beat anything the repukes have in their repertoire - IMHO.

10. please consider this
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

And this

The Aramaic root of the word "evil" means "unripe."

That suggests something that requires more sunlight (aka consciousness), nourishment, water (aka emotional support), and time (patience), though I've heard no one else elucidate it as such, but most metaphysicians don't live on farms. That perspective sure beats all the tiresomely unenlightened dualistic shadow projection that is bandied about so much these days.

11. Apathy Has Its Place As Well...
As the old song goes...to hate, one must have loved. I have NEVER loved anything about the repugnican party or the "conservative movement". Instead I think apathy can apply to some of what you write...such as buying into their framing or conveluted logic. Their positions on almost every issue is myopic and self-serving and the best display to show how much I "value" their positions is to dismiss them altogether. I'm done with attempting to find the 'common ground'...7 years of destroying this country has proven to me and millions in this country how morally and politically bankrupt the GOOP is. My hopes are their asses are beaten so bad this fall they implode into irrelevancy for the remainder of my time on this planet.

doesn't mean you have to have loved what you hate. You have to have loved something. I loved my country. I hate the people who have destroyed it. Apathy in no way describes what I feel. If not hate, then intense rage.

Empathy Domination and the bully

<...>

Change begins by knowing yourself and knowing what you want and who the enemies of humanity are and hating them with your whole heart, regardless of what anyone still in the domination system says....Anger and hatred have a very specific uses,to free us from tyrants, psychopaths, bullies and domination!!!Rage, anger, and violence, they have a real important purpose, they exist for a reason, yet in the domination system we are taught to deny it suppress it and even demonize it and pretend we do not feel it.. yet we do,and we sit on it.We tolerate too much injustice.

This rage suppression and rage misdirection is a manipulation. It keeps us in denial, fighting each other and helpless to help ourselves or each other be free of psychopathy and psychopaths and the domination system they made.

Eventually we must face the fact either we must become willing to fight to be free of domination, or remain subjects. What kind of trauma will it take to say you have had enough of this shit? Each one of us..Has to ask this question and make our solution.

And the non violent must face the answer they don't want to face, rage violence it has a purpose..We all will have to face it. We can die slaves complicit in our servitude or we can start fighting the domination, and do what it takes to contain these toxic personalities and dismantle the domination systems they made to keep us servile ,obedient and helpless forever.

We must learn and protect each other to save ourselves and each other, from abuses of power and the people who abuse.
Even if it means wiping the authoritarian, narcissist and psychopaths among us off the face of the planet.

I've nothing further to add at the moment.

24. i'm not going to tell you not to hate XYZ
but i am going to say i don't feel hate towards these people, etc.

i know plenty of repubs, dems, and libertarians. some are great people, some not so much.

i just think it degrades one's own self to be so filled with hate. it's one thing to be angry, it's another to hate. "anger is an energy". i'm cool with that. hate for political opponents, or people who feel differently than you sounds like a lot of drama to me, and ultimately reflects more poorly on the hater than the hatee.

just my humble opinion.

27. We SHOULD Get Re-Energized With Hatred of Republicans
I think the best thing that could happen to the Democratic Party, (and the American people), is to return to the good old-fashioned attitude of openly being against Republicans, and knowing that our biggest task is to stop them and their investment banker contributors. The problem is not that people are "partisan"--they'd God-damned well better be!--but that they are lying to us all, taking money from lobbyists and only working for corporations, not even any societal concern at all anymore, and are obsctructing and killing the people's will and the common good. The problem is paid consultants telling them all how to lie, so they can get us so ignorant, so muddled with self-reflexive double-talk jargon, that we always instantly lose before any true debate might have happened--of the "Why do you hate America?" mind-ripping type--so they can then do what they were really doing all along: taking corporate money, and reworking the laws so that they favor individual corporate donors, at everyone else's expense. I hate people who say "We are bringing America together," like Nancy Pelosi, when really they are crawling cravenly to submit to anything libertarian Republicans want, and ripping the country apart, with total lack of representation. My parents--great New Deal believers right to the end--always taught me what shit Republicans are, and they were right; and they never change.

They don't play fair. It seems the age of 'Doublespeak' has come to fruition. Besides the flashing 'liar' sign over their heads we need a crawler stating the opposite of what they are saying. The opposite of what ever, Cheneybush, is usually what we should be taking away from his message. When Rove says he's concerned about election fraud, that means he intends to find a way to do it. When Cheneybush talks about freedom and Democracy he really means how can his party destroy your rights as an American, and put people overseas under tyranny.

36. That begs the question...is hating evil really hate?
I'm inclined to say no. Seeing injustice, arrogance, poverty, war, etc should make every human being with a head and a heart angry. Sometimes it's as if the whole world is sleeping and I'm just waiting for people to wake up. I have never felt so bitter and depressed as I did when George Bush's approval ratings were soaring after the invasion of Iraq. I thought to myself, "How in the hell can people be so f*&$%^# stupid?".

So in short, I agree with you. It's hard not to hate when faced with the likes of Sir Shrub.

I remember I was at work and every one was talking about the war in Iraq when it first started and I blurted out rather loudly, "This war is a farce!" Nobody believed me then (or very few). Now they eat their thoughts and words. Stupidity for not seeing through all the B.S. They let their thoughts and mouths run with hatred for the Iraqis. I heard IGNORANT statements "Bomb them all!" It made me sick! Still, the ignorance of some of the people I work with or know brings my blood to a boil! I begin to feel the same hatred as the OP.

I have hated briefly before 2000, but never an ongoing seething for any one or group like I do against BushCo. And I hate that have to carry these feelings around with me. I had hoped to be rid of them in 2004, but on it went, increasing with every new naked abuse of the constitution and each new watermark of death in Iraq.

I am a peacenik and abhor the use of torture, and I hate that I have the most vile and violent fantasies of slow excruciatingly painful tortures applied to Dubya and Cheney for their serial mass murdering crimes and war profiteering.

It's also an emotion I can't live with very long because of how the negativity impacts my life and the lives of those around me. Negative emotions can drive me to do something positive.

BTW, Not all republicans are evil. There are plenty of good ones who don't like bush and the repuke party than you do. My mom and grandmother are republicans and they are NOT evil. Using broad brush strokes to paint an entire group of people with is just plain wrong.

And, yeah, we're better than them. We always will be as long as we put people and country ahead of party and greed.
