Let's Play: How Many Senate Seats Will The Democrats Win This Year?
I think we're growing a healthy crop of new Senate dems. Here are the states I think dems will win Senate seats in:

VA: Senator Mark Warner

NH: Senator Jeanne Shaheen

NM: Senator Tom Udall

CO: Senator Mark Udall

AK: Senator Mark Begich

MN: Senator Al Franken

Yes, I know that the last 3 are in tight races, but I'm going out on a limb and predicting dems will win all six seats. Here are some I consider possible:

OR: Either Novich or Merkel over Smith

NE: It's a long shot, but I think Kleeb *could* win it

ME: Another long shot but Allen's still a possibility

I think the dems will pick up anywhere for 6-9 seats in the Senate in November. Watching Lieberman sink into insignificance will be a dream come true. Having a strong dem majority in the Senate is even better, and at least a few of them will be progressives.

2. If Democrats gain 5 or more seats, then Lieberman should be dropped from chairing his committees.
Hopefully, then Joe Lieberman will join the Republican Party formally, and he'll be easier to beat in the next election in Connecticut.

4. That would be justice.

And I don't think Lieberman has any intention of running again.

7. We won't know until early June.
The state convention will determine it.

8. TN just found a Dem candidate to run against Alexander
Give him a few months to raise some money and get into the race and I bet it will be competitive. I can't stand Lamar. He has rubber stamped everything Bush has wanted.

Rick Noriega is no stranger to public service. Having served in both the armed forces and in public office, he is prepared to restore integrity in the U.S. Senate.
