The last arrow in the quiver. Never mind if there is any valid charges of indiscretion or being in bed with lobbyists. Never mind if the crusader for campaign finance reform has been the biggest hypocrite on the matter. Never mind if someone is lying about being warned of a certain relationship in the middle of a campaign. Attack the messenger!

Never mind if there is a long history of taking favors from special interests, some that go all the way back to the S & L scandal of the 1980's. Never mind the facts of the matter. Never mind that all the rumors are coming from those on the conservative side. Attack the messenger!

Never mind that this same "liberal media" covered up the crimes of this White House before the last election because they were told it was "national security". Never mind that this nation has suffered because this same "liberal" newspaper withheld this information from the public. Never mind finding out the truth before you attack the messenger.

yes this does fit right into their absurd culture of victimization but corruption and ethics were #1 on voters minds in 2006 and that was with almost no press coverage (it ended by Friday of election week)
