Students charged in murder-for-hire plot
Truman High students charged in murder-for-hire plot

Jacob Jett (left) and Joseph Garcia

Jackson County prosecutors charged a Truman High School senior and his friend today in connection with a plot to murder the senior’s parents.

Prosecutors charged Jacob A. Jett, 18, and his friend, Joseph R. Garcia, 17, with second-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action. Both were in jail today in lieu of a $250,000 cash-only bond.

Court records allege Jett and Garcia approached two men about killing Jett’s parents. Jett allegedly provided the would-be hit men with three guns, $260, a debit card with the personal identification number and the alarm code to the Independence home Jett shared with his parents.

Police arrested Jett at his home Monday night. Police also arrested Garcia Monday night. Garcia is a junior at Truman High School.

1. How bizarre would that be?
Knowing that your very own child was looking to have you killed.

And what a chickenshit kid

You want your parents dead, kill 'em yourself, punk.

Already had the guns and could've saved that money.

7. I forget about the Country's meth problem.
Where I live, the kids don't do meth (they can afford cocaine).

But the Moms do it, and that has led to some pretty interesting local hi-jinks.
