I think the correct response is, "Stop! You're killing me!"

You forgot :
Social Security is a joke.
Medicare is a joke.
Public education is a joke.
Environmental protection Agency is a joke

GWB and his PNAC cronies (Project for a New American Century), along with his pal, the odious Grover Norquist(Club for Growth) have devoted their lives to proving that government does not work.

They took over government in a stolen election (The election system is apparently as broken as the rest of government).
It took merely eight years for these gangsters to prove their point.

They broke our government.

Now they can say , "See? Government dosnt work."

7. It is not those agencies, but the political appointees at the head of them that are jokes
Lots of good people, who really understand the concept of PUBLIC SERVICE have been hung out to dry by bush appointees assigned to destroy the government from within.

12. The people who voted for #@$h for two terms are a joke.
They voted for their own selfish "values" and fake patriotism rather than the common good.

14. The federal Civil Service was purged and hollowed out by Bush. It will take years to make this right
Starting with Saint Ronnie the Repubs took a functioning federal government that people mostly trusted to get the job done and started telling people it was not to be trusted and that it didn't work. Then, following Grover Norquist et al, the Repubs made sure it was so.

Bush-Cheney built prodigiously on their foundation and succeeded beyond all expectations. We now have a federal government that cannot get the job done and we cannot trust.

I don't know why they thought this was a good idea, probably something about turning us into a medieval Third World nation of impoverished unhealthy ill-educated peasants to maximize the wealth of the robber barons, but they did.

All that aside, I ultimately was quite impressed with the Bush Juggernaut. Sickened and disbelieving, but impressed. It was a well-coordinated multi-pronged effort from Day One. I think all of us have something we remember from that first day in the Oval. For some it was what Bush did to some environmental regulation. For me it was reinstating the Global Gag Order that witholds family planning funds from poor nations if clinic workers even whisper the word abortion even in cases of rape or sick mothers.

I hope to God that whoever gets elected has a team ready to review and reverse every single act, bill, signing statement, and executive order promulgated by these misbegotten SOBs.

Hekate
