11. Bingo
I'm still amazed at how many people around here are still under the impression that Al Gore is nominated for an Oscar. He's not. He was the main subject of an Oscar-nominated documentary, but he himself is NOT nominated for anything.

I'd love to see AIT's producers win tonight, and they may ask VP Gore to join them on stage whilst they accept their award, but Al Gore will not, under any circumstances, going home with a gold statue of his own tonight.

17. Lighten up
The fact is, like it or not, he is the star here and he will get the credit or blame either way. Right or wrong it is the truth.

18. Oh shut up.
Why mess things up by pointing out reality? :) :)

Seriously though, I tried pointing this out weeks ago and got flamed. :)

How many times does that have to be stated? He is not listed as one of the film's producers. It will more than likely be Davis Guggenheim who is the director and one of the executive producers who will accept the award should the movie win. Mr. Gore could most certainly come up on stage if asked, but I think that would be as far as it would go. And for me, whether this movie wins there tonight or not the message is undiminished, and is still not political.

10. Just think how great it will be when he does win it though... It will..
be like the Dixie Chicks landslide winnings...... If he does garner an oscar tonite, that should send a major message to the Administration! Not that they listen anyway....

12. Actually, Gore can't win. He's not nominated. The movie is, but Gore isn't director or producer.
He's the "star" of the documentary so to speak, but that doesn't get you any recognition even if the movie wins. He can only "win" in the sense of being associated so strongly with the film--no statues or acceptance speeches.
