Kucinich needs help: not primary issue
The corporations have pitted 4 contenders for his seat. He is trying to be muscled out by DINO's, Not only do we need to look for actual democrats not just people trying to get a seat. We need to keep the good congressman in. For all the hill and obama and edwards supporters this is one thing we can all get behind. Help kucinich out and keep one of the good guys in congress.

please keep this kicked and rec'd

4. I'd like a verbal commitment from him that he'll support the Dem. pres. nominee first
As of yet he has refused to do that.

9. Whatever. I'm satisfied that he'll be a progressive voice in Congress
and not a bootlicking apologist. But, that's just me.

20. That's a huge distortion of fact. He said he wouldn't ENDORSE anyone.
All that means is that he's not going to name a personal favorite in the horse race for the nomination.

Shouldn't we ALL be free to do the same?

21. I won't do that myself,
so I don't expect it from him, either. That's part of upholding principles. The first loyalty is to the principles, not party.

Why should anyone have to declare that they will support any nominee, when some of them are frankly unsupportable?

He worked harder for Kerry after the convention in '04 than any of those who lost to Kerry did (barring Edwards, of course.)

Who knows what the candidates will do next? We have homophobic campaigners, we have a candidate attempting to usurp delegates, we have a candidate who supports pre-emptive strikes on other nations, we have a candidate whose campaign strategist is linked to Blackwater, we have a candidate who supports republican values like merit pay for teachers, we have a candidate who rarely gives a straight answer to a straight question.

I wouldn't want ANY voter to declare a loyalty oath that might end up forcing them to vote for one of those candidates.

14. why would the corporations back four different people v kucinich
wouldn't that just split the anti-kucinich vote and ensure his election?

Maybe its not just the "corporations" that think he's vulnerable,eh?

17. with four loud voices
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 07:27 PM by fenriswolf
all with the same viewpoint but each one probably focusing on one of kucinich's main issue, and with all the money in the world. Talking very loudly over him, with all the power of the media. It sounds very familier. Oh yeah they would squeeze all the votes away from kucinich then it would be a matter for ohio to choose a corporate candidate. just like now.

25. the primary is in less than 6 weeks
The best thing going for DK is that he has four opponents that will split the vote. Its not as if he's going to drop out before the primary.

26. I Was Chuckling About The Same Thing....An Old Divide & Conquer Trick
We're seeing this game play out right now in Illinois 3rd. The incumbent DINO...Lipinski and his machine have set up two other ringers in the primary to dilute the vote for Progressive Mark Pera...hoping to split all the dissenting vote. You'd think that if the DLC or the corporations or Darth Vader or whomever wants Kucinich out would just throw their money behind one strong challenger...that's usually how it's done.

Alas, around here DK is golden...but that doesn't appear to be how he's felt in his district. And in some ways, I don't blame those people. He's busy running around running for President and not representing my district...I'd be pissed (just as much as I am about my own junior Senator being AWOL on key votes these days). Unfortunately, as I've said (and gotten flamed for in the past...and I expect it again), Kucinich talk a good game...says good things, but doesn't deliver. I can't think of a single bill he's shepard through the House and most I suspect his constituents are looking at this as well.

DK's problems are of his own making...sad to say. He's really no threat to the DLC or the corporation. Maybe he's an irritant now and then, but he surely offers no imminent threat to their wealth and power.
