Different colored licenses for DUI offenders?
My local rep (also a Rep) got his hat handed to him today on a state bill he was sponsoring that would make convicted drunk drivers have a different background color on their driver's license.

Yellow for one offense. Red for multiple. No convictions for 5 years, you can apply for a "normal" license.

How is this different than the proposed colors for vehicle plates? Any other states playing with this? And what the heck is it supposed to do?

6. Drunk driving kills more than guns and drugs combined.
What a silly statement you make.

2. They have colored plates (one color) in Ohio
it is not automatic to get one, up to the judge. I think the cops can stop a DUI plated vehicle without normal probable cause.

3. I suppose that keeps friends from borrowing cars.
How is it "fair" to other family members, though? Sounds stupid.

9. Yea, my friend is gonna get one.
He is a dumbfuck though, and he deserves it. He was proud saying that when he gets his license back (and if he can ever afford a car) that he'll have special tags :eyes:

8. Well nothing else seems to keep these jerks off the road
Maybe a little humiliation would go a long way. Got any alternative suggestions?
