Dennis Kucinich Will Single-Handedly Impeach Bush - Wonkette

A few years back, everybody was all, “Let’s impeach Bush & Cheney & Rumsfeld and try them for war crimes and execute them by firing squad, on Pay Per View.” And then our nation sort of got over it — what administration doesn’t launch a bunch of illegal wars — because the Democrats won Congress and the economy collapsed and now Americans are basically just looking around nervously for food and shelter, maybe under that bridge.

Well the good times are back: Dennis Kucinich is going to impeach George W. Bush on Monday!

This is what he said in the House yesterday afternoon, when nobody was paying attention:

“The President and Vice President lied and 4,000 of our soldiers died. The President and Vice President lied and a million innocent Iraqis died in a war that’ll cost us two trillion dollars while people here in the states are losing their jobs, their health care, their homes, their dignity. Lies are weapons of mass destruction. Lies are also an impeachable offense. Monday, January 28th is the State of the Union. We already know the State of the Union, it’s a lie.”

Jesus, did he find a bunch of 2004 protest signs behind his house? After this was put into the record, Dennis all the sudden said he wanted it stricken from the record, but he would put it back in the record, later.

1. Dennis Kucinich...
...will be lucky to hold onto his seat. He just announced he's dropping out of the presidential race and I have a feeling it's because he's pissed off some very powerful people in high places in Cleveland. They're tired of Cleveland being a punchline for late night comedians and the first step toward fixing that is to get new representation in Congress.

NE Ohio isn't northern California, and doesn't want to be. Dennis is gonna find that out.

The corporations want him out of office. Can't have a real Democrat around who tells the truth about them, you know.

14. I think the voters
had more impact than the corporations.

That said, I wish him the best of luck in his House re-election bid.

28. Ive never seen such a wild campaign push like CNN and Ahnold
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 10:36 AM by wintersoulja
They had Ahnold on 24/7, yet in the state papers NO coverage of his lawsuit
charging a major offense in London pinching a TV hosts nipples or whatever.
Then look at the results from that circus, the Total Recall election.
Theres no legitimate explanations for the results from that election,
just look at the SOS results page. total bullshit and public acceptance.
Anything to save the Energy Lords from giving back our billions.

12. cleveland was a joke long before Kucinich
do you really not know that cleveland is the classic symbol for "not New York" or the anti-matter Chicago... in the same way that Peoria is the classic symbol for middle america?

that aside, you are fortunate to have Kucinich BECAUSE he is pissing off some very powerful people in Cleveland. That's what representatives are supposed to do, remember? Be the voice of the people...represent the people's interests in this nation against the pissed off powerful people. And if they're so powerful, why the hell are they pissed off? Maybe it would be more accurate to say he's pissed off a bunch of greedy fucks who don't care about justice or anything else that doesn't privilege them over all others because, see, they're powerful.

30. You ARE lucky! Or, more likely, you did make the effort...
Not too many candidates make it up my way, Northern NY State, since NY is considered a "blue state," despite the fact that those of us on the north and the west live in red districts. I had the good fortune to see Bill Clinton, live and in person, speak in my small burg in 2006 in support in my Democratic congressional candidate. I didn't get to meet him, though my SO got close enough to take pix and actually shake his hand, and he was very impressive. I was gratified that there was SRO to hear him speak and my candidate won handily, unseating a long-time Republican. :-)

I've often regretted that I didn't enter that contest, a date with Dennis, LOL. I don't want to marry the guy, but he's been my candidate since 2003 and I'd just really love to have the chance to meet him and speak to him. He's the best and I envy that you had the chance...:hi:

35. Now that he's dropped out of the race, my chances of ever meeting him are nil. *sigh*
I understand his need to focus on his congressional race, but I'll miss his voice and his message, as I did after the convention in 2004...:-(

I love Dennis, always have, but I still can't help thinking of what my friend nuxvomica said during the last pre-election debates. He loves DK, too, but remarked that people weren't taking Dennis seriously because he has little fuzzy feet...

37. CAN DO. Just take the issues to the People, use media, make it a campaign.
If we are to live in a media dominated world, maybe We the People need to DOMINATE the media.

The easiest way is raise money and buy media ads, like MOVE ON.
Put Impeachment on the front burner, put it in the media non-stop.
