You know what? I WAS RIGHT.
I started a thread a while back regarding the pandering of a certain candidate to the Religious Fundamentalist Wing existing of a certain color by his refusal to denounce bigotry against a certain sexual orientation.

Obama. McClurkin. LGBT community.

At that time, I was so disgusted with this tacit acceptance bordering on endorsement of the "Fix the Gays With Jesus" attitude, that I suggested that soon, either HE or his surrogates would use the "Race Card."

Well, it's happening. DAMN sometimes I HATE it when I'm right.

Don't get me wrong here: I am Equal Opportunity disgusted with most/all of our slate to one degree or another. I'm a Socialist; it's my JOB. But to see a politician of color take advantage of that while continuing to practice LGBT BIGOTRY (Rev. Jobykill or whatever the fuck his name is) makes me want to projectile vomit. In addition, we've got people here endorsing the calling of Bill Clinton a RACIST for comments that would roll off the back of a WHITE candidate in the same position.

Now some are going to call me a "HILL BOT." Fuck you. I don't like ANY of our candidates. NONE of them are facing REALITY, although Edwards approaches it on occasion. So I'm adopting a secret attitude that I will tell you all about here and now and only this once:

"Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out!"

I HOPE that it gets worse. It's GOING TO ANYWAY, so why not get SO FUCKING BAD that we will find a way to change our political system, our ways of relating to the rest of the world, our wasteful polluting, YES, OUR VERY LIVES.

This is the only time I will come right out and say this: I'm hoping I can secure the property up north, the wind generators, the greenhouses and the equipment BEFORE everything collapses. It's going to be tight, but I'm going to give it a shot.

We now return to a more sedate and lower key Tyler, who will keep this other Tyler behind the curtain.

1. Hillbot.
Actually, I am hoping for a brokered convention where we can nominate a real Democrat.

4. The more SEDATE Tyler sez: Works for ME.
I think the best thing that could happen is that the convention is deadlocked, and Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., be acclaimed as a "Dark Horse" Candidate.

Anyone who thinks that ANY of those scum running on the rePuke side could beat Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., is fucking kidding themselves.

6. My dream scenario.
I will hope, and help, to see these two (3) at each others throats. Deadlock is my goal. I am a real Democrat.

10. Not every one of our current crop of candidates beats all Republican candidates
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 03:10 PM by midlife_mo_Jo
in polls, anyway. (Not that I trust polls. :( )

A lot of independents and republicans are going to vote democratic this year, who don't really have good feelings for Gore - water under the bridge, you know?

I wouldn't put my trust in a Gore candidacy for a win.

3. Hey Tyler, be sure to let us know when all that hatching starts, will ya?
I want to make sure it doesn't take me by surprise. And I understand how you feel, I have days when I feel the same way.

And really, this was OK. No need to be more sedate or lower key, lots of people are boiling just below the surface these days.

5. Too late I'm afraid. It's already in process.
I'm deathly afraid the ULTIMATE hatch out will be when Bush invokes Martial Law with whatever he has planned for October Surprise 2008, suspends the election, and Stays in Office.

Maybe that's just what we need. Better quit picking on the NRA guys: we're going to need every ___________ we can load and muster.

9. Like we'd be able to avoid it!
Imho, you're right. I find myself getting into useless squabbles every day now. Maybe time to take up kickboxing or dart throwing or soup making which involves a lot of chopping and beating. :(

... I view Barack's overall behaviour and record and I don't see anything to class him as homophobe or a REepublican in disguise. So go Barack. In all honesty if he is using race at this stage it seems apporpriate considering I've heard more pro support by Republicans and all the calls of Barack can't do it on the left which can only make me scratch my head and wonder. Now if Hillary can make hay with her gender it's not outlandish that race, as much as Barack has tried to avoid it, will be part of this race too. I never saw much spoken when she did make something of gender. So next topic please.

and I'm proud of all 3. Any one of the 3 would make a great Democratic president.

14. Also Barack has brought new voters to the process all motivated to change america for the better ...
... Whatever is thrown at him you can't take away that achievement a whole young generation who have shaken off their skepticism ready to do what's right. Because Barack understands that no matter what any candidate says nothing changes till the people as whole move them. In this he is the best candidate in my eyes.

21. So when he fails to deliver
any real change (which is the predictable outcome when you compare his rhetoric with his small print) we will have bred a whole new generation of political cynics. Great. Nothing worse than false prophets.

18. It's hard to maintain when you pass 50-55.
For example: it's 7:20 am, and all I can think about is a nap.
