Please consider, on a voluntary basis, posting political threads in GDP.
I know many will consider this request unrealistic, and even undesirable. But some DUers would like to free up at least a bit more space in GD for nonpolitical posting and discussion. Skinner has posted that the mods will not enforce confinement of political posts to GDP, as was done in '04. So any sorting of political and nonpolitical posts between GD and GDP will be on a voluntary basis.

GDP is not so busy out of campaign season, and posts there might not get as much attention. But, if anyone is not aware, it is at present a very busy, very "lively," forum. (Too lively for some tastes, I know.)

Again, this is only an idea "for your consideration" -- not an attempt to impose any restriction on anyone.

1. Voluntary won't work.. Just try posting ANYTHING with the word ISRAEL in it

if you want to check the lightning-fast reflexes of the alert button and the immediate "move-to-dungeon" response..

or use 911 in any context except to ridicule Rudy 911-iani..and see how fast that one's 86-ed..

Voluntary will not work, because no one thinks there's anything "wrong" with spamming for their candidate or trashing someone else's..

2. Then the masses won't know what's going on...
imho.

But it looks to me like the majority of election topics are in GDP.

5. Please join the Edwards and Kucinich people
I'm surviving GD -P by avoiding all topics that are clearly there to bait a non-Hillary supporter (Topics like: Do you want your children to grow up under Republican Nazis with bad breath and Jesus issues just so you can avoid voting for Hillary, the most wonderful woman and politican to ever do something good FOR THE CHILDREN any time and anywhere. Or are you gonna continue to hate little children!?!) etc.)

We are mostly tolerant of Obama. (Well now I am speaking for others, but I think that the fact that Obama has never acted like he is the inevitable choice of the only Political family that can save the world, means that most of us feel he has not been yet given godly status as a a politician.)

A trip or two to GD - P can be done. With a little practice.

4. K&R! It's like we have 2 GDP forums right now...
Maybe we can ask Skinner to post a note from the Admins to the top of the forum, as a little reminder to everyone.
