I am posing this in a forum CONCERNED about something greater than their own plight. Hence, I assume all tend to gravitate towards the same.

Nevertheless, we live among the many and I still ask what any are willing to sacrifice for something greater than themselves.

I'll take this a step further.

Those who are not so lucky or fortitude or ambitious figure those who are (lucky/fortuitous/ambitious) will always figure themselves superior and NEVER understand, let alone help the HAVE NOTS. The lucky and fortuitous and ambitious seem stuck on rationalizing their financial security. Why?

2. I know many, all on active duty with the U.S. military. I see thousands every day. They obey elected
civilian leaders appointed over them by our electoral process.

People might not like the combat they are in but they are simply obeying orders.

I have many close friends who have been killed or bear physical and mental scars from battle.
