Could the majority of Democrats really be all about the Hillster? My local statistical sampling says no.

4. I have friends in Las Vegas, and they DO NOT UNDERSTAND
the results today at all. They are totally mystified. They were expecting John to win Nevada.

Something's just not right.

Edwards had 50% of the votes stolen from him?

7. Worse I know more than a few people who will never vote for her
They're mostly progressives- and from what I can tell, they mean it.

Doesn't bode well for state and local candidates.

I don't know any either.
And the results today have me really mystified, because just yesterday (I think; maybe it was Thursday), Clinton, Obama, and Edwards were polling very close to each other.

Strange.

Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 05:55 PM by DesertRat
Including my son who is a senior in college and my 76 year old parents. Most of my daughter's college friends are Obama or Kucinich supporters. My daughter supports Kucinich as do I. I don't know any Edwards supporters personally.

10. You do realize you have set yourself up for abuse here right?
I don't know anyone personally, IRL who is a Hillary supporter either. I do however live in SW Ohio which means that the republicans outnumber me and they'd never support her.

16. We all tend to hang out with like-minded people
So anectotal evidence is useless. Obviously, a lot of people in the country like HIllary. I know few of them personally, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

22. Obviously they exist
I'm just spooked by her meteoric rise. Two years ago when our asshat-repuke-IT-guy would walk around saying "Hillary's coming, beware the Hillary!", I'd look at him and say "What the fuck are you talking about? She'll never be the nominee. Only you guys want that..." Shit, the ignorant repuke was right!

17. I know Clinton supporters in FL, NY, MD, PA, WA, NJ, and CA
I'm for Edwards myself but I have no problem finding Clinton supporters in ppl I know personally or through work.
I also know Guiliani supporters, McCain supporters, Huckabee supporters, Kucinich supporters, Romney supporters, Obama supporters, Paul supporters and thankfully other Edwards supporters.

but then she's scared of an African-American Muslim who might have ties to Al Quaeda. Then again she doesn't like any Spanish speaking people, and she doesn't get along with Italians. I so hope her breed dies out soon.

till then it was Obama 112 /Edwards 43/ Kucinich 30/ Hill 0. Now Hill has 5 known supporters in Honolulu.
That I know of.
Wowsa. I'm whelmed. But then not to underestimate, she is tight with the bigshots that think they own the party.

Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 06:08 PM by MasonJar
a couple of days ago every person in the office at the time (all women) want Hillary. We are ready for a lady in the White House; we are ready for a democrat and we are ready for someone with the intelligence to run a country...the last two of course also suit the guys in the dem race. We think Obama should run in 8 years; in fact I have always been surprised he didn't wait; he is so young and new at the political meatgrinder.
On edit: By the way I live in the South, that is Louisville, Kentucky.

25. Only Clinton supporter I've found is my 89 year old mother
who said she would vote for Clinton because she is a woman. I tried to talk to her about issues, but she's a one issue voter.

Looking ahead to the GE, I'm a bit worried, because I have several Republican and Independent friends who are disgusted with Bush and who are thinking about voting Democratic in November--unless our nominee is Clinton. They tell me that they remember Mrs. Clinton from her Little Rock years, and they don't like her one bit. This is in Arkansas. I am really concerned that the anti-Clinton mindset will hurt us in the GE if Clinton is the nominee.

30. I know some
I like Edwards, personally. But some people I know like Clinton. I've heard people say that their lives were good under the first Clinton, and they'll probably be good under the second Clinton too. That's kind of simplistic logic but I've heard it from my sister, a neighbor, and another parent volunteer at my daughter's school.

31. I know some Obama supporters, but they're all kids. I don't know any Edwards supporters IRL.
I know exactly one Kucinich die-hard, she's my favorite eccentric, a real sweetheart and a good friend and neighbor. All of the other adult Democrats I know IRL are Hillary Clinton supporters. They live in Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas, Iowa and D.C.
