Aaron Brown resurfaces
I haven't heard a peep about him since he got canned from CNN. He will be teaching a class at ASU's Cronkite School of Journalism this spring. No news about whether he'll end up back on network or cable news -- just about the teaching gig. I know a lot of DUers didn't like him, but I did.

2. I remember getting an email from him in 2004
I wrote, "why did CNN call the first debate between Bush and Kerry a tie, when most media outlets called it for hands down for Kerry."

He wrote back

"Different people see things differently"

3. harrumph
Look where his "diplomacy" got him. I like him too, I met him once when he was just an anchor in Seattle and he was as he is on the air - thoughtful. But I wish he'd taken more of a stand when he had the chance.

4. That guy ALWAYS responded to my emails
He just liked getting into email debates, I guess. Interesting cat. I'm sure he's ashamed of the part he played in pumping up the Bush admin, although it was clearly CNN policy at the time.

5. He had Greg Palast on as a guest once -- I respect him
I'd love to see him back on TV news. ("Now"? Frontline?)

7. i guess Aaron should have just asked to be tasered and to stand out in hurricaines
and not think or question and then he'd still have a job at CNN.

12. no kidding
KO has zinged AC a few times. AC is definitely lightweight -- CNN's version of Rita Crosby. I've watched CNN very little since Aaron Brown left -- and they hired that Beck fascist.

13. I Like Anderson Copper!!! And I loved Aaron Brown...both good people
Have you read much about him or listened to him very much.....his coverage of New Orleans was outstanding.
And the man has a good heart, really he does.

I didn't appreciate KO zinging him....there was not sustenance to that zing either. Cooper would never say anything bad about KO, whom I like too.
I'm a big fan of all three of these guys.

10. And drunken murderer
Everytime time he shows up on CNN in the AM I send them an e-mail and switch to local news. That man makes my blood boil. Just hearing his voice makes me angry.

I always enjoyed Aaron Brown.

8. I don't know how anybody could like him as a journalist.
He was decidedly lightweight. But I suppose by today's standards he might be considered another Walter Cronkite. I'm sorry. I grew up watching Walter Cronkite. Aaron Brown, you are no Walter Cronkite.

9. He actually responded to one of my ideas for a story -- I had
Most MSM reporters -- ignored some of my story ideas -- but I received letters from him and Sam Donaldson, and the NY Times.

11. Agree with you. Brown was intelligent and interesting. He could
interview with the best of them -- far better than some of the other talking heads on the various news networks.

I thought he made a great news editor as well. His interview of the late teens who drove a small vehicle into Katrina-damaged New Orleans to rescue people (even as the Bush administration said they couldn't get troops into the city) was one of the highlights of the coverage that week.
