1. Is this the heroin wealth fund or...

the 'laundered donations to keep oil prices high' fund?

4. More Pillaging of the People.

Guess this explains Shrub's recent visit to the ME-
It was time to celebrate the further bilking and transfer of wealth
out of the US.

http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/newstex/IBD-0001-22250532.htm
"In State Street's core custodial business, the biggest growth driver is overseas customers. The company generates 43% of revenue from abroad, with an aim toward generating 50% from non-U.S. business.

As the pool of global assets outside the U.S. grows rapidly, demand for custody banks is skyrocketing. State Street recently won the custody business of the National Pension Service of South Korea and Abu Dhabi Investment Co.

"Those sovereign wealth funds have a lot of money and are looking to diversify their investments," said analyst Long, pointing to Abu Dhabi's recent $7.5 billion cash injection for struggling Citigroup (NYSE:C) C. In deals involving those investments, global custodians play a big role in back-office work.

China also started outsourcing asset management services for the first time, and State Street's rival, Northern Trust (NASDAQ:NTRS) NTRS, won China's multibillion-dollar National Social Security Fund as a client in 2006."

But not to worry, Hillary and Obama will save us.
Not a fucking peep out of either of them on this latest
rape of we, the people.
Uh-huh.

16. Smart People Like Dick Cheney Choose State Street
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 12:34 AM by CorpGovActivist
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22state+street%22+halliburton+decade">Did I say "smart"? I meant shrewd.

http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?type=11&dateb=&owner=include&count=40&action=getcompany&CIK=hal">Halliburton's annual employee savings plan reports show when the relationship began.

Who appointed the plan committee members while Cheney was CEO?

Well, at many companies, that would be the CEO, with the rubber stamp of the Board, if needed (often not).

The exact amount of fees paid by Halliburton to State Street and its affiliates, jv's and the like, can be found at http://www.freeerisa.com/5500/Form5500.asp?mode=SEARCH">FreeERISA.com, with a free subscription.

Of course, that doesn't include Halliburton affiliates and subsidiaries like the Bush Family asbestos shame company, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dresser+industries+prescott+bush+george">Dresser Industries, or http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=kbr+nigeria+bribe">KBR, the recently spunoff unit of Halliburton that is in the news for all the wrong reasons.

And State Street does some really interesting financial transactions in places like the http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/93751/000110465907012016/a07-2771_1ex21d1.htm">Caymans.

Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 12:48 AM by CorpGovActivist
... when State Street's well-oiled marketing machine produces the marketing slicks of the "super secret" client list.

Interestingly, as soon as Shannon P. O'Brien (Dem) took over from Joe Malone (R) as State Treasurer in MA, the hometown BushCo. bank got the boot after a competitive bidding process (something Malone hadn't put STT executives thru, given their hefty bundled campaign donations to him over the years).

If you'd like, I can provide links to financial press items and Boston media items.

34. Thanks for the heads-up, Ides. The super-rich moved their loot to Switzerland long ago.
Unlike America's Corporate McPravda, UK's "The Guardian" covers what's going on:

Super-rich hide trillions offshore

• Study reveals assets 10 times larger than UK GDP
• Exchequers deprived of hundreds of billions in tax
