My finances aren't too hot at the moment, but I may just have to make a donation.

if I donate on this one day, my donation will have a greater impact. It will go twice as far (because of matching funds).

I'm just one person, and I'm unemployed right now. I hope to find a job soon (but worry due to declining economy, etc.) I'm a person who will benefit from a John Edwards presidency. When he makes changes to help the middle and lower classes, he will be helping me. My donation is small, and I can't make much of a difference, but on this one day my $50 will go twice as far. Plus combined with all the other donations from this one day, we have an even better chance to make a difference (and to make headlines!). I like that! I have a feeling that whatever we can donate will help and will make a difference.
