Kos: Vote for Romney in the Michigan primary
I have kind of a concurring opinion to this. Kos thinks we should raid their primary for fun and to egg on a Republican civil war. I think the reason to vote Romney is because he is the Republican who polls worst against Obama and Hillary.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/1/10/2713/87225/55/434206

In 1972, Republican voters in Michigan decided to make a little mischief, crossing over to vote in the open Democratic primary and voting for segregationist Democrat George Wallace, seriously embarrassing the state's Democrats. In fact, a third of the voters (PDF) in the Democratic primary were Republican crossover votes. In 1988, Republican voters again crossed over, helping Jesse Jackson win the Democratic primary, helping rack up big margins for Jackson in Republican precincts. (Michigan Republicans can clearly be counted on to practice the worst of racial politics.) In 1998, Republicans helped Jack Kevorkian's lawyer -- quack Geoffrey Feiger -- win his Democratic primary, thus guaranteeing their hold on the governor's mansion that year.

With a history of meddling in our primaries, why don't we try and return the favor. Next Tuesday, January 15th, Michigan will hold its primary. Michigan Democrats should vote for Mitt Romney, because if Mitt wins, Democrats win. How so?

For Michigan Democrats, the Democratic primary is meaningless since the DNC stripped the state of all its delegates (at least temporarily) for violating party rules. Hillary Clinton is alone on the ballot.

Michigan Democrats helped deliver their state to McCain in 2000 to spite their hated governor, John Engler, who had "guaranteed" his state to Bush. To prevent such future mischief, Michigan Republicans helped push through a unified tax-payer funded primary date to supposedly keep Democrats focused on their own race (prior to this year, party contests were funded by the parties). Let's make sure their meddling with the Democratic primary and their misuse of taxpayer funds backfires on them.

Michigan is Romneys last stand. He has pulled all advertising from other states for a last-ditch effort there. Its sink or swim time for Romney, and were going to throw him a lifesaver.

So why are we doing this? Because we can. Because it'll be fun. And because we've suffered Republican meddling, stealing, and disenfranchisement in our elections for far too long.

9. Yup. I did as KOS is advising in OP. Vote for least electable in

primary on other side. Set it up so your candidate will have the least trouble winning. My 1 vote didn't matter much, but it rankles. Doing what OP and KOS is advising, don't think so.

7. yup, get the least electable into the general election and here we are.
Incredible. I wonder if McCain had gotten the repub nomination, if the election would've been rigged so much.

10. I don't like Mccain but I highly doubt it
I don't think McCain is some great bastion of honesty... but I don't think he would have pulled what the bushnik reich did in 2000 (although given his ass kissing of that regime over the last couple of years who can tell!)

God I wish I had a time machine (said in my best Uncle Rico voice--except I would go back to 1992 not 82 lol)

3. "Because we can" is the Republican motto.
When we were occupying the Queens College campus, during a previous war, we had signs posted all over: "Beware anyone who suggests an act of vandalism. It's a NARC."

You are suggesting an act of political vandalism. No thanks.

4. "Turnabout is fair play" is one of my mottos
And doing a little rat-fucking in Michigan actually has some good points going for it. Casting a ballot is hardly an act of vandalism.

Let's hope he re-evolves!

14. Guess the rumors are true about Markos being bought and paid for by the DLC
There is a Democrat on the ballot in Michigan. His name is Dennis Kucinich.

Why should you vote for him? To send a message to the Whore Media, the corporatists, and the DLC that THEY do not get to choose OUR candidate 10 months before the fucking election and even 7 months before the party convention.

If you are a Michigan supporter of John Edwards, Barack Obama, or the other candidates who have left us, Biden, Dodd, and Richardson, are you going to let Hillary win another state for free? Your guys aren't on the ballot. A victory for Dennis in Michigan is a win for all of us who weren't part of the media-annointed scam to begin with.

Keep a real primary contest going. Keep real issues in the debates. Vote Kucinich, Michigan!! :bounce:
