If marriage is "by definition" between a man and woman because that's what your paperback desk dictionary says then slavery, defined as DRUDGERY AND TOIL, is still legal in the US.

There's a special place in hell for people who "prove" things by turning to the dictionary instead of turning to history. Words change meaning constantly and a dictionary is nothing more than an repository of contemporary standard usage. It's not a freaking biblical text.

If marriage is by definition something that exists between a man and woman then why do I have:

A 410 page book on my desk called Same-Sex Unions In Premodern Europe that names many cultures with same-sex marriages from Greece forward. The author specifically cites in which cultures the union was specifically called MARRIAGE.

Another book called Boy Wives and Female Husbands: African Homosexualities also sits on my desk.

Fucking ridiculous. We are LITERALLY behind Medieval Europe.

1. Honey,
You gotta accept reality as defined by other peoples' books. That's why our laws based on the Bible, and gay people can't get married or have many of the other rights that straight people have.

But I still can't figure out why there aren't any laws prohibiting divorce, lying, adultery or coveting thy neighbor's ass.

3. I see no reason gays and lesbians should not be married
And I think anybody that is against it is really and truly against God.

God preached to love thy neighbor. And he said to help people the hate and vile and absolute bullshit that people post against gays is sickening.

Maybe we should find something the republicans and the gay haters do and start a campaign to ban that.
