The closest analogy to the Bhutto attack is

edited to add.. Bobby Kennedy

Wallace's attempted assassination.

Bhutto was NOT in office
she was running for office

True, she had been prime minister, but at the time of her assassination, she was just a candidate for office.

kennedy was president
sadat was president
begin was prime minister
reagan was president
ford was president

her assassination was regrettable, but not beyond the realm of probability

Had she lived to be elected as prime minister, she may still have been assassinated, as Musharref may still be or karzai might be..

In an unstable country like Pakistan ( or Iraq or Afghanistan), being the leader is like wearing a target 24-7. Their "democracy" is always a bullet away from anarchy..and apparently that's the way they want it :(

5. bobby Kennedy Jr--she was a relative of an assassinated President
just like Bobby, who wasn't in office at the time. She wanted more rights for the peeople and an ernd to war, just like Bobby.

I dunno--comparing her to Wallace is way out of line. Plus, Wallace didn't
actually die from the attempt.
