Can an Edwards Iowa win spell the Presidency for Hillary?
Scenario 1:
Hillary wins Iowa
Edwards drops out...endorses Obama. Obama is able to eclipse enough support to win NH and beyond.

Scenario 2:
Obama wins Iowa
Edwards drops out, endorses him.

Scenario 3:
Edwards wins Iowa
Continues on and on...Hillary is able to come back victory in NH.

What do you think will be the best scenario for Hillary? The worst? Could an Edwards win in Iowa be better for her than a Hillary win?

1. Why can't Edwards win NH?
Why can't he win all the primaries? Why should him winning Iowa mean he loses to HRC? :wtf:

2. If hillary doesn't get it, I will jump to Edwards faster than the sun shined.
I do not see him winning JNew Hampshire. I mean, the potential Iowa win could give him a bump, but NH has a huge history of rejecting southern candidates.

8. They have no history of rejecting Southerners who've just won Iowa
Carter in '76 & '80, Gore in 2000 - both Southerners, both Iowa winners, both won NH over Northerners.

9. It doesn't . This is an attempt to frighten votes away from Edwards.

5. Scenario 4: Edwards wins the presidency, Kucinich becomes vice president.

10. As what? Assassination insurance?
You actually have to pick your VEEP BEFORE the election. Since Kucinich is no draw of any kind to voters, I'm guessing he will NOT be on the ticket.

If he were, he would surely be an excellent preventive of both assassination AND impeachment. No radical rightwinger would ever want to risk his becoming president.

7. None of the top three will drop out no matter how they do.......
...I hope not. The rest of the country should be involved in that decision and not just two or three media bloated state caucus/primaries at this early stage of the national elections.

13. I agree. None of the top three
are going to quit before the end of February no matter what happens. Neither is Kucinich from what I know of the campaign. All the campaigns have a strategy mapped out for at least two months. Now if money stops coming in it may not be possible to go much furthur, but nobody is stopping dead in their tracks the day after a primary.

It may affect what voters do, but you'd be surprised how few people vote in the primaries and how few people are really thinking strategically about this.

Anything can happen.

16. I'd rather not worry about what's best for Hillary...
...until she starts caring (okay--caring more) about what's best for us.

(I'm not snarking at the OP here...only at the hint of the meme that the White house belongs to a candidate rather than to us.)

17. Hillary's best case is a 3rd place showing. Doesn't matter for her who wins....
