Scientists tend to think in a pattern something like: Analyze - come up with a Theory - Test and/or Gather more information - repeat.

At no time is a scientist "positive" about their conclusions, but we can safely say our conclusions become "more right" over time.

"OMFG BUSH IS EVIL AND HE DID IT!!" while totally ignoring anything that doesn't support that conclusion.
