War on Christmas vehicle spotted!
I worked at Home Depot on Saturday afternoon, and observed this vehicle...parked in the handicapped spot with no handicapped placard in evidence. Yes, I called the cops.

The vehicle in question was a minivan with one of those "stick figure family" decals in the back window (father, mother, three midsized children and two babies), a bumper sticker from a Christian school, a bunch of other permanent Jesus stuff on the back, and the windows all painted up with festive slogans like "Merry Christmas" (with "Christ" in red and the other letters in white in all places on the van), "It's Christmas Deal With It," "If You Are Offended By Christmas Don't Celebrate It" and the standard "Jesus Is The Reason For The Season."

The War on Christmas? Well...if their intent is to so disgust people no one celebrates it anymore, I think they're winning.

1. Must be related to the one I saw a couple of years ago.
Pulled up in a handicapped parking spot in front of me. Van was covered in Jesus and antiabortion stickers but no handicap plates or dangler. Woman gets out with 6 kids(stairstepped, maybe about a year and half apart). I look at the Handicap Parking sign, look at the van, look at the sign, look at the van. She glares at me about it, so I smile and say "Inability to practice birth control is just stupidity-not a handicap." She just glares at me some more as I go into the store.

4. Thank you for reporting this
My husband has a medical condition that makes it very painful for him to walk any distance. He needs to be able to park in handicapped spots. When someone who doesn't have a sticker parks there, it means he either doesn't go in the store or he winds up being in a lot of pain for hours afterwards.

10. if they forgot the tag, they shouldn't park in the spot.
i have a placard, and i generally just leave it in my car, unless we go someplace in my wife's car, in which case i get the placard from mine. and sometimes i end up going out in the car without having the placard- in which case i don't use the handicapped parking spots.

13. if they have a legitimate placard, they'll be able to get the ticket dismissed.
but as a placard-wielding disabled person- it's nice to see people out there looking out for our well-being.
