2. So. You live in Texas?
I'm guessing you probably don't, because Blue Bell Ice Cream is from Texas and I'm sure that no one could ever get sick of that.

And your state government has not advanced too much passed the stone age as well.

Then we'll see if some of this isn't your fault as well.

I'm sure there's enough blame to go around.

39. I live in a state that is heavily Dem, and voted against Bush twice.
But I'm sure there's no way I'd ever get you to say anything nice about Illinois.

So, as you can see, this whole exercise is rather pointless.

but Dubya is a Connecticut Yankee; born in New Haven. His daddy was born in Milton Mass.

His accent is a phony as the ranch in Crawford, and his daddy's residence in Houston.

Don't care much for the place myself. Heck, I left there ten years ago.

But this is not the reason.

Suffice it to say my visits are very infrequent.

And Texas is not "the West"; it is by any definition part of the South.

13. It is an interesting state.
I never lived there, I just spent a lot of time there.

Texas has some neat things going for it. The people are really nice. Austin is a neat city - San Antonio also a nice city.

I think it just like every other state - depends on where you are.

I don't think badly of the state.

Joe

17. Not me.
I'll never get sick of Molly, or Hightower, or Mexican food, or Big Bend National Park. I'll never get tired of bluebonnets in the spring, South Padre beaches in the summer, Texarkana when the leaves turn in the fall and Galveston in the winter.

I live in Houston, and the precinct I captain went 79% for John Kerry in 2004.

We're working pretty hard down here in the belly of the beast to turn it blue. You have a standing invitation to come help, any time you like.

In the meantime, hate on somebody else.

Georgia isn't any better. I have the rw idiot Kingston as my rep, and the drooling morans here just love him.

Bet you can find just as high a concentration of idiots in some places within California, in Orange country and elsewhere. Or any other state.

Let's hope people have/will learn to see through the fake folksy redneck acting crap.

28. I don't live in Texas
but I've been to Big Bend and it knocked my socks off- other places as well. And I know exactly how you feel, I feel the same way about my state of Vermont. I love the pychedelic expanse of dandelions against acid green grass in the spring, and the equally pschedelic blaze of leaves in the fall. I love the smoke rising from the chimneys in the village below on a day that's clear as a bell and colder than a witche's tit.

Love of place is powerful.

20. I sick of the state you are from, whatever it is.
If this is because of Bush, just remember he is a yankee.

Yes, I drive a pickup truck, but I don't like country music.

I find all this I hate Texas threads really sad.

My Rep. is Shelia Jackson Lee, do you hate her.

You need to really grow up.

38. Like I said you need to grow up.
The whole state isn't Tom Delay or the people who voted for him.

Texas is big, lots of different people here.

Kerry won in my precinct, I know because I am precinct judge.

A lot of the people in Texan are not native Texans, you do know that.

We have people moving here from the other states.

Many of them vote Republican.

Take you hate somewhere else.

Texas is a great state, and all your hate isn't going to change it.

The voters Texas didn't but Bush in the White House, all the 50 states did.

Where did all the Republicans in Congress from the other 49 states come from, not from Texas.

I love Texas, it is my home for 6 generations.

We have good and bad here just like anyother state, you state included.

30. Texas DU'ers Please, I have no problem with the Land...
...Nor with Texas Citizens who are ethical, moderate, and rational.

I have a problem with Texas Government, and what it has produced. Need I remind you, you have to live with it everyday.

I'm not saying all Texas Politicians are bad, but from the out-side looking in, (Excluding Ann Richards and the Brave state Democrats that fought against Tom Delay's redstricting); I am left with GWB (yankee or not) and Delay who have shaped our country in the worst possible ways.
