Plame and the destroyed torture tapes
Edited on Wed Dec-12-07 10:55 AM by rurallib
I find it really odd that one of the reasons given for destroying the interrogation tapes is to protest CIA officers and possible retribution.
That stands in stark juxtaposition to what was done to Valerie Plame. The admin put not only Plame's life and the lives of her family in danger, they also exposed all other agents who had contact with her not to mention the informants that had been cultivated for so many years.
These people don't even lie very well anymore.

1. It makes as much sense as anything else
this administration has done and made excuses for.

2. With the Bush administration, it's like this:
CIA "above top secret" agent and AK-47 expert who learned masquerading as an energy consultant for Brewster Jennings that Iran was scaling back its nuclear program: EXPENDABLE

CIA agents who torture al-Qaeda agents into providing questionable information that may have helped lead to a useless occupation of Iraq: PROTECT AT ALL COSTS

7. once you understand the the CIA was neutered when it was folded into HLS
everything becomes clear.

We have a rise in private Intel services because of this. In 2003, all the best agents left because the CIA became a direct tool of the vice prez. They were unable to do their jobs that they were originally chartered to do (not that they did them very well to begin with), but once this happened there was a mass exodus of agents which left an experience and intelligence vacuum at the agency. Now, the only people working there are cronies of moron* and dickhead and they model their intel to fit the propaganda. Plame was outed for this reason. She was kicked overboard because she wasn't a team player aka a suck up to the WH.

Read "Legacy of Ashes" it's a history of the CIA based in part on documents obtained via the FOIA.
