Do you believe the Obama camp when they say they didn't help Oprah w/ her speech?
Oprah says she was up til 3 AM working on her speech; the Obama camp says they had no input.

Question: Do you believe them?

A- No, I don't believe Obama's camp. There's no way they would NOT have any input. They gave her the talking points.

B- Yes, I believe Obama's camp when they say they didn't help with the speech.

1. B. Yes, I believe Obama's camp. Oprah has a mind of her own and I don't think
she'd take direction on something she feels so strongly about.

2. Ok, Oprah probably told them to butt out, and I bet they listened...
...cuz you don't want to cross her...she carries a grudge for a long time...ask David letterman.

Then again, she gave us Dr. Phil, so you can't raelly believe most of what she says.

It's a draw.

Oprah is pretty damn intelligent and can write. Anyone who thinks she can't can piss off.

10. Yes, because I think it goes to the heart of the Obama camp's truthfulness, or lack thereof
Some of the stuff Oprah said in her speech, sounded like some of the things Obama's been saying in his stump speech.

I definitely think Obama's camp gave her talking points.

You dont become the most powerful woman in American media by not having a mind of your own. Of course she wrote her own damn speech!

12. No, she did not....
I heard a bunch of "I'm telling you Iowa, he's the one." That's what she said, except she didn't say WHY he was the one.

And she was very disengenuous....saying "Long before it was popular, he was against this war."

Then explain why he keeps voting to fund it!

13. I'm sure they gave her talking points. She has never cared much about
politics.

Check out the Oprah.com message boards. It seems many of her sheep are baaaalking

and none too pleased with her dip into "political manipulation" of them

14. Let's see. Oprah has had a tv show, unscripted for how many years now?
Seriously, put away the tinfoil hat and get a dose of reality OP. I do believe the woman has had some prior experience in public speaking and writing her own speeches.

15. No, I find that disingenuous and those who believe it, naive.
Doesn't mean I think he's a bed guy, but I don't find this turn to be encouraging.

I find Oprah worship, and all celebrity worship, disturbing.

18. Oprah is doing you a huge favor by endorsing you...
she says she wants to write her speech on her own. Do you tell her no? Only an idiot would fight her over it.

25. Who said anything about fighting? I'm talking about duplicity. The idea that two figures looming
so large in the current popular landscape would form a collaboration without mutual consultation? I leave that notion for the true believers.

17. Oprah is a smart woman. She can write it herself.
Plus, if you're getting Oprah's endorsement and she says she wants to write her speech alone then you let her write her speech. Can anyone really see them forcing her to have it approved first? Yeah right.

I wasn't going to go there but there was the obvious implication in the OP that Oprah isn't capable of writing her speech and/or Obama wouldn't trust her judgment enough to let her do it without help. Is it sexism or racism? I'm not sure.

28. Oprah's speech was infintely more "listen-able" than Obama's, following hers
I was actually embarrassed for him. I had not listened to many of his speeches, and was looking forward to a rousing speech, but what I heard was rather dull and tentative..and PULEEEEEZE, candidates..QUIT telling the old one about how the people REALLY want to see and hear your wife.. They DON'T...(And if they
DO, that's a real problem for your campaign)
