More Conservative hypocrisy
Edited on Sat Dec-08-07 02:15 PM by NGinpa
Huckabee and other conservatives often believe:

It is difficult to understand the public policy towards AIDS. It is the first time in the history of civilization in which the carriers of a genuine plague have not been isolated from the general population, and in which this deadly disease for which there is no cure is being treated as a civil rights issue instead of the true health crisis it represents."

Serious and deadly diseases that are spread by casual contact that cannot be avoided can and should be contained by isolation, as has been done for 200 years or more in public health. HOWEVER, diseases that are only spread by the stupidity or willful neglect of principles by some people are more like gun violation crimes.

It is quite hypocritical and a matter for deep thought that the same conservatives that so oppose gun control as a way of controlling gun violence are the very ones that want to lock everyone up with aids, a disease we now know is only spread through willful ignorance if someone knows they have it. In other words, if you were going to lock up everyone with AIDS in order to control the spread of the disease, why not also lock up all guns to control the spread of gun violence since gun violence is only spread by the willful ignorance of some of those with guns. What is really behind the conservative mindset that they act so differently and hypocritically on two very similar issues??
