freepers hate bush now?
I read freerepublic a lot, just because it is truly fascinating, kind of like a carwreck, I just have to look

what I noticed in the last year is the tremendous amounts of hate that bush has nurtured within his own base

there are basically 4 topics that seem to get these people spitting mad about bush

1. his support for independent kosovo (freepers see it as support for a terrorist anti-christian state in europe)

2. his support for formation of official palestinian state

3. his peaceful negotiations with north korea

4. and the big one, his immigration reform (illegals taking over the country and destroying white american culture)

...and a host of other things - like the sea treaty (caving in to the UN), abandoning his allies (like bolton), procecution of war crimes against american soldiers (haditha)

honestly, at this poing he is almost as hated at freerepublic.com because of those issues as he is at this site, any time those topics come up he is ridiculed just as bad, with funny pictures and all

he basically managed to completely alienate his conservative base as well by the end of his presidency

comments?

They're the most extreme racists, xenophobes, homophobes, and violence-drenched, christianist nonthinkers in the whole RW.

Thus, george just isn't good enough for them anymore. He didn't deliver an American theocracy, nuke the ME, or bring the EU to heel, and they hate him for it.

Edited for punctuation.

40. you might be surprised
there is a consensus on there that the reason they lost 2006 midterm election is because a lot of conservatives were so disgusted with the modern 'liberal' GOP that they simply didn't show up to vote

6. Commander AWOL & cronies have no honor
Eventually, even kool-aid guzzlers get a clue. But it's too late, Freepers, you have followed an Administration of Chickenhawk War Profiteers through obvious lie after lie, and they have destroyed America. You -- freepers -- bear a heavy share of the blame for all that has come undone, and all that is about to go Flopola.

11. actually I think you are kind of missing my point here, lol
the reason freepers hate bush is because he turned out to be NOT CONSERVATIVE ENOUGH

that's what is scary

basically, according to freepers, other than his tax cuts, and starting the war in iraq (that they say he fucked up anyway because he has not allowed american soldiers to kill indiscriminatelly, and thus tied their hands and set them up for failure), other than that, in their eyes he is a liberal

Bush appears to like Clinton and want to be buddies with the guy. He has been a huge disappointment and I wonder about his mental state.

This President is now on the side of terrorists.

He was already on the side of illegals.

Bush said in a June 28 statement that he was disappointed that Congress failed to enact the immigration bill.

Eat it, El Presidente.

23. not really
just like this site, freerepublic is filled with tens of thousand of posters, and the majority of them hold a negative opinion of bush at this point, but there are still a few that support him

the daily prayer and daily photos threads are kept free of controversy by moderatos because they erase any negative posts in those threads as disrespectful and off-topic

like i said, i have been reading that crazy ass site for over a year and i just call them like i see them

and i see tremendous change of attitude that has taken place over there. and if you take freerepublic as a snapshot of that 30% voting dedicated republican base, than what does that mean for our politics and out future?

i don't know

i am just asking questions

cause i am curious

Bush is such a disappointment in so many ways......

I cannot believe what is going on with this President.
He is thumbing his nose @ the people who have supported him thru thick & thin...I am ready to throw in the towel. This man is delusional when he says we will have to destroy our country to appease his wrong headed idea that ILLEGAL ALIENS are good for us!

It is time for anyone in the GOP to step up and become the anti-Bush hero. Fred? Sessions? Who has any spine?

More and more as Bush pushes his screw America, amnesty deal for illegal aliens,he reminds me of Mike Nifong and his bone headed stubborn determination to screw the three Duke La Crosse players.

The only difference is that Bush dreams of screwing three hundred million innocent Americans instead of three.

He may get his way, but woe unto the Senators and Representatives who give him his victory. For they shall be jobless following their next election campaign.

...a provocative, “news-worthy” picture of the Republican party’s current assessment of the president.

Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 11:12 PM by theredpen
At the top of the main forum page are red-colored links to "The Giuliani File" and "Kerik". They had a Stalinist purge of Giuliani supporters last spring. Fred Thompson, followed closely by Duncan Hunter, seem to be their faves. They are really delusional about Fred Thompson — at least Duncan Hunter is actually the person they believe him to be.

I've actually seen Freepers call the Bush supporters "Bushbots." I never thought I'd see that.
