About Those Murdering Insurgents:


The arc of the myth should be familiar to anyone who has ever taken a gander at Xenophon or Herodotus. Here's how it goes: The other guys are indomitable yet evil and our guys are righteous and brave. They meet on the field of battle. Our guys -- being brave and righteous -- are victorious and the bad guys fold like a cheap tent.
