How influential is Bob Somerby/The Daily Howler?

Seems like lately many are picking up on Bob's themes. Maybe that's because those themes are so obvious, or maybe it's because many read Bob and his arguments are so effective, or maybe, and probably, some combination of the two.

Bob is like a pit-bull: he won't let go, he just keeps pounding the same drum, and it's hard to not be pursuaded.

To those unfamiliar, Bob believes the mainstream press - not the wingnuts and the echo chamber - and libs who refused to call a spade a spade cost Gore the election in 2000 and that it is happening again. Liberals in the media, he tells us over and over and over, refuse to confront the conduct of their colleagues in the mainstream centrist press with regards to their treatment of Dems and a vastly different way of treating Republicans.

He's persuaded me.....

This is called pack mentality. It does not even depend on whether a reporter or columnist is liberal, centrist, or conservative. They are all repeating the same meme.

Somerby has been great at documenting that for years now.

Of course, some people do not see that because they have bought the completely already.
