Hartmann: Why run TV ads for products you can't buy? (offshore oil platforms and combat aircraft)
The sponsors of the ads know full well that nobody's gonna pop $100 million for an F-18.

The ads serve as a reminder to the news networks. "We are contributing to the overall operation of your network. Don't forget it."

Hartmann says they're running those ads because they're effective. The news assignment desks pretty much leave those industries alone.

This was in the last half-hour of Thom's radio show today. Replay at: http://www.WhiteRoseSociety.org/Hartmann.pls

2. the ads are aimed at investors
also to create goodwill toward the company, which is especially important to companies like Boeing, etc, whose products are designed to shred human bodies apart.

3. We do buy F-18s

We as taxpayers, and constituents who elected the people who spend the tax dollars.

And as consumers of energy we do also pay for off shore oil platforms.

5. another piece of it
may be that they're trying to get everyone to be familiar with these companies, feel comfortable with them, so that later, when people are sitting on a jury judging the company for work-related disabilities or illegally dumping toxic waste or whatever, people will come more positively disposed. ("but they're the ones who build fighters to protect our homeland!")

6. Randi has noted the same. Also, today brings proof...
A thread I started earlier about proof of DOD/Big Media synchronicity:

7. And do you notice all the Saudi Ads whenever there's some
ramp up for War. "The Kingdom Holdings" advertises regularly on CNN....

Remember though...we live in a "Global Economy." The "Haves of the Global" and those who are oppressed by it.

it's not the ad, but the full representation of your image on the network, in the news, etc...
