Guess who said this-- an 'R' or a 'D' ?

‘Hunger is not always a negative as the report indicates. Without hunger or the threat of hunger probably half of humanity would not get up in the morning and go to work. Hunger is one of the great motivators of humanity. It is one of the tools that I used as a parent to encourage my children to do their chores as young children. When used properly, hunger can motivate people so they can experience the joy of work and accomplishment.’”

2. OK, now I'm confused.
It sounds like a stereotypical Republican sentiment, so I assumed it must be a Democrat or why would you post it?

But following the link, it seems it really was a Republican, Steven Thayn of Idaho, unless I misread.

What have I missed?

8. Sounds like this person needs to starve himself of neocons. He's spending way
too much time with the "bad is good" crowd.

9. One of those "privation is good for the soul" twits.
They're typically more in favor of depriving others than themselves, though.

13. OMG here's another idiotic statement from that link:
“A deregulated system would improve education. If they were really interested in the children, they would call for the children to stay home with their parents until they were 10 years old. I am tired of the same old retoric.”

14.  He belongs to a group that wants to separate school & state!
Edited on Sat Nov-10-07 06:36 PM by Breeze54
...he signs on as a supporter of the http://www.schoolandstate.org/home.htm">Alliance for the Separation of School & State!.

His statement there says,

“I am a school teacher, farmer, lover of freedom. I cannot see how freedom can long exist if the government
has the power to determine what the people should know. Why I Signed: Freedom is dependant upon the people telling the government what to do. If the government controls what the people should know, this upsets this relationship and the state becomes all powerful.”

He's batshit  !!

He's right up your alley, proud2Blib? :sarcasm:
