The difference between the Democratic and Republican Parties, as I see it:
(At least as it concerns the leadership of each party).

Republicans have the courage to do what they think needs to be done, but they are terribly wrong about what needs to be done. (Courage without wisdom).

Democrats are, for the most part, correct about what needs to be done, but they terribly lack the courage to do it. (Wisdom without courage).

Courage without wisdom (Republican leadership) is dangerous.

Wisdom without courage (Democratic leadership) is useless.

We must begin, as a party, demanding that our leadership start displaying the courage needed to do what they know needs to be done.

If we will do this...if we will fill the leadership void with courageous leadership...the majority of the American people will follow. That's the Franklin D. Roosevelt style of governing...and he won FOUR TERMS.

Just my two cents (again).

3. I've learned 2 truths over the past 8 years:
1. For the most part, the GOP will do whatever it wants.

2. For the most part, DEMS will allow them to do so.

9. The GOP has one voice
that has 50 votes in the Senate, 200 votes in the House, and veto power in the WH.

The Dems are 280 individuals, some of whom can still be duped by RW propaganda. They still believe that though he's misguided, the President is still an honorable man and that their GOP colleagues are still loyal Americans. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.

Unfortunately, there's only one Dem Presidential candidate who sees through all the BS and is not willing to compromise or capitulate the the GOP. And he's not the front runner.

13. Yup.
Complicity rather that cowardice, in some cases.

14. The devil is, as always, in the details.
You define the Democrats as "Democrats are, for the most part, correct about what needs to be done, but they terribly lack the courage to do it. (Wisdom without courage)."

The problems come in when we start to define specifically 'what needs to be done'.

For what its worth, while you and don't often agree, this is one time I have to say I agree with you.

15. our leadership agrees with the republican leadership on most issues
of importance. There is a general consensus between both parties. That consensus view is driving our republic over a cliff and taking the entire world with it into a completely unneccesary disaster. Once we get there, if we manage to survive, we may be able to reform this now totally bork'd system of theirs. Until then, nothing is going to change.
