1. I just got a new book yesterday by Thom Hartmann-"Cracking the Code"
http://www.amazon.com/Cracking-Code-Restore-Americas-Original/dp/1576754588/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-9111287-6675869?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1194439117&sr=8-2
Millions of working Americans talk, act, and vote as if their economic interests match those of the megawealthy, global corporations, and the politicians who do their bidding. How did this happen? According to Air America radio host Thom Hartmann, the apologists of the Right have become masters of the subtle and largely subconscious aspects of political communication. It's not an escalation in Iraq, it's a surge; it's not the inheritance tax, it's the death tax; it's not drilling for oil, it's exploring for energy. Conservatives didn't intuit the path to persuasive messaging; they learned these techniques. There is no reason why progressives can't learn them too. In Cracking the Code, Hartmann shows you how. Drawing on his background as a psychotherapist and advertising executive as well as a national radio host, he breaks down the structure for effective communication, sharing exercises and examples for practical application.

It may give you some insight into how "they" twist the message.

4. republic ownership of our paper and television stations prolly doesn't help either
we do have a small paper that is progressive but it comes out about the time of the vote yesterday so nothing was in it. I'm hoping maybe today they will have something, anything about it.

10. Its worked well on our leaders in Congress
They're exposed to an even greater level of this method of twisting the message on a daily basis and many of them have come to believe it too.

2. This is a rerun.
There was already a bill to impeach the Dick. It's been in Conyer's committee since May of this year.

Both bills are expected to die of old age there.

5. I saw it on CNN last night.
Last night I was stuck with watching Wolf on CNN and the journalist who was reporting the news (because God forbid Wolf can't report any news) laughed the whole time when she discussed (ha, ha, funny, funny) the Impeachment of Cheney, (wink, wink, chuckle chuckle). It infuriated me.

When over half of the Americans polled want Cheney Impeached this ignorant, idiotic news reported makes a joke of it. (The survey by the American Research Group found that 45 percent support the US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Bush, with 46 percent opposed, and a 54-40 split in favor when it comes to Cheney.)

Why, because Pelosi is Pooh-poohing it. Oh, we just have so many more important things to do then upholding the Constitution or doing what over 54% of Americans want us to do. We can't waste our very precious time holding the executive accountable. We'll send a nasty worded letter instead.

It is just like they did when the bushes stole the elections. Just like they did when the black robed junta selected our president for us. Just like they did when people said there were no WMDs. It is all one big joke and Pelosi is laughing at us all.

7. It does seem our political leaders are out of touch with us
maybe its that they all are in bed with one another and they don't want to start pointing fingers as those pointed at will start pointing back. One thing I think I understand in it all is that if we knew half of what is really going on with our elected officials we would all be shocked and would demand the impeachment and removal of all or most of all of the 535 of our congress critters, hell it would go all the way to our states level too, I suspect

Nothing in the paper. This is totally absurd. No matter what you think of the players involved such political brinksmanship is NEWS. Are all the journalists DEAD?
