8. yes, he's degraded the constitution. No, he's not going
to declare martial law, arrest Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Lawrence Tribe, and stay on in the White House.

6. Dress rehearsal for the junta
Already, the language on the MSM is favoring this "crackdown".
How long before it happens here?

It's very easy. All the admin. has to do is to stage an attack, then stage a rally around the administration. ANyone who objects will get their head busted.
Want to bet it can't happen here?

9. CNN is using Mushy's frame.
He declared Martial Law, suspended a free press, dismissed Supreme Court Judges, and suspended the Constitution. But, it had nothing to do with terrorism.

It is all to hold power. It is ALL to silence the Judicial System that was about to rule against his long reigning coup.

CNN is worthless.

13. Musharaf Is A CNN Tool Or The Other Way Around
You nailed it...this is all about Musharaf hanging onto his power while his "popularity" (which is worse than boooshies) sinks. He's lost the clergy and the courts and now is just trying to hang on with his original power source...the military (and we're not sure how well he's hanging on there).

I'm all but sure CNN has been getting spoonfed what to say by the White House and Musharaf's people...trying to make this despot some "cuddly" leader. It all means little as the Pakistani military gets the final say and if they think Musharaf's a liability, he's gone.

14. The sad part about all this is ....
That the ones who over-throw him are going to be Talibanesque types who will put down hard-line Islamic law and the losers AS ALWAYS will be the women. Add in a government that wills support and defend terrorists with control of nuclear weapons and it is a recipe for disaster.

Once again, everything Bush touches turns to shit.

15. Musharaff should have done what Hugo Chavez did and amend the constitution.
Instead of suspending it. Then many DUers would support it.

17. Well spotted.
And red. He should have picked the color red for his new party. That seems to be the right color for those who enjoy power grabs.
