I could give a rat's behind if Gore runs or not. Why?
Edited on Tue Oct-30-07 09:29 AM by Pacifist Patriot
Because I'm still writing his name in when I vote in the primaries. I'm having such a hard time feeling wildly inspired by anyone running for the Democratic nomination I really don't feel I'd be "wasting a vote." When it comes to the general election I'll possibly re-evaluate my position. Nothing on this earth could ever make me vote Republican or abstain from voting, but in the primary I am writing Gore in if his name is not on my ballot. Must be the Cherokee in me. ;)

14. I am going to write him in, not that it will matter. Our primary seems
to be after the general election. Alaska: Fighting to be last!

2. He's a good man.
But have you considered the fact that, even if he won by write-in vote, he wouldn't accept the nomination?

4. I have considered that.
I would hope that Al would graciously accept
what is thrust upon him. To be sure it would
be hard to turn down that which was taken from him
to begin with.

23. Not accept the political capital and a mandate given by - not stolen from - the people?
Even if he turned it down, it would be worth it just to hear heads exploding all over Washington. But we can all hope he would be gracious and accept.

If not, I would hope that the next president has the sense to appoint him secretary of energy (with more power) and make Bill Clinton the ambassador to the UN. Just my $.002.

6. I agree
For the first time since I've been an eligible voter (40 years)I'm not at all excited with the slate of candidates we have in the primaries. It seems wherever they go their stump speeches are tailored to media coverage and not the voters..they're saying what sounds good on the evening news...We dont have a real candidate out there(with the exception of Kucinich and he has no chance)
And who knows maybe the Repukes are gearing up to steal another election anyway and it really doesn't matter who wins the nomination....
Al Gore or John Kerry would be the only candidates that I could really support. Our primary is so late that its over before we even vote but just for the sake of disagreeing with the way our party has shifted I'll probably write in Al Gore too.........

7. Election theft has me extremely concerned, but at least my state...
has moved up their primary so my vote may possibly count for a little this time around. In all past presidential elections my pick has withdrawn before my state voted. And this includes residency in four different states. Bah! I hate our primary system.

10. What is there to not be inspired about with Dennis Kucinich?
Edited on Tue Oct-30-07 05:35 PM by Gregorian
I ask this because it almost seems that by writing in Gore, you may be missing in the primary vote count. I'll admit that I'm torn between Gore and Kucinich if Gore IS running. But I would not subject my vote to becoming vapor when I do have a candidate worthy of my vote.

On edit, I do see your point. But still, I would like to hear more from you on this. Perhaps it would urge Gore to enter the race? That seems a bit far fetched. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know.

In the 2004 primary, my state's primary was in May. The pity of that is that we have PAPER BALLOTS.

21. I emailed my state Dem party office today re: how to get Gore on the primary ballot in Tennessee.
We should all do that. I asked my state party critters if anyone was already pursuing this effort in Tennessee and, if so, to get me in touch with them. If not, I asked for the rules/regulations on how to get Al's name on the ballot.

One way or the other, Al Gore will get my vote in the Orange State primary.
