Senator Dodd Announces Opposition To Attorney General Nominee Mukasey
BREAKING: Senator Chris Dodd opposition to Attorney General nominee announced
by hannah
Sun Oct 28, 2007 at 01:46:25 PM PDT
This is sort of a no-brainer.

From Dodd's web site:

Senator Chris Dodd today announced his opposition to Attorney General nominee Michael Mukasey, citing Mr. Mukasey's counsel against adherence to the rule of law as a determining factor.

"Mr. Mukasey's position that the President does not have to heed the law disqualifies him from being the chief attorney for the United States. We have seen for too long, and at great expense to our national security, an Administration that has systematically attacked the rule of law and turned our Justice Department into a political wing of the White House. I'm afraid that Mr. Mukasey as Attorney General would be more of the same."

4. Mukasey should not be confirmed.
The reason that he should be confirmed because the Asshole that is there now is worse doesn't
cut it. Force Busholini to appoint an AG that believes in the Constitution; that knows Water boarding is Torture & Unconstitutional.

5. Absolutely, and it upsets me that torutre is the ONLY issue they seem to be
discussing. What about all the other crimes against the constitution? What about immunity for the telecoms? Fisa, spying, politicizing of the DOJ?

6. What about his belief in the Unitary Executive.
He follows the same line of thought as those who argue for absurd, unconstitutional presidential power.

7. I've changed my mind about Mukasey
I don't think he should be confirmed either, even though Keisler is demonstrably worse. However, if you think they can force bushco to appoint someone decent, you need to put down that pipe. Ain't gonna happen. We'll be stuck with Keisler.

13. Bush is not a complete idiot, more like a smart crook who intends to get his way
one way or another, and he won't nominate anyone who considers his previous actions unlawful.

9. I'm liking this guy more and more
He really hit my radar when he was on KO talking about the first thing he'll do as President is to restore the Constitution. Truthfully, I'd never really considered him before then. But I'm liking what he's saying more and more.

He's certainly been impressive of late.

19. The long lost spine is found!
Mukasey won't enforce Congressional subpoenas too. Another example of an AG who would put the Bush cabal above the law.

20. Dodd is definitely going up in favor with me!
If I thought he'd be a good candidate, he'd be right behind Kucinich in preference. But then, spine helps make one a good candidate.
