3. I wish more American people would realize the important point which you make.
Many Soviet soldiers were killed when their helicopters were brought down by the stinger missiles authorized by Reagan who slept soundly through it all. The right-wingers who revere Reagan's legacy are too dull to make the connection that the Soviet/USA and USA/Iran proxy wars are analogous. Only this time, when the USA is on the receiving end of the bloodshed, the right-wingers want to retaliate with nuclear Armageddon.

4. None, but since we are the biggest bullies on the block
we get to define the terms. I hope we have enough sense to go home before this becomes the swan song of our once great nation.

5. You are all missing the point
American arms makers are not making any money off of it! How dare those insurgents outsource their munitions.

6. Just maybe.....
....the Iranians might be a bit pissed cuz the U.S. sold nerve gas and chemical weapons to Iraq to fight them. Darn, I guess we weren't supposed to remember that.

7. A point of clarification...
The government of Iran is Shite...
the government of Iraq is Shite...

Saddam Hussien was Sunni...
the insurgents who are battling our troops are Sunni...
most of the U.S. casualties and all of the U.S. aircraft shot down were in Sunni territory...
Saudi Arabia is Sunni...

there are confirmed reports, i.e. the Iraq Study Group report that "private families" in Saudi Arabia are sending millions of dollars to Sunni insurgents in Iraq for armaments...
http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2006-12-08-saudis-sunnis_x.htm
<snip>
Private Saudi citizens are giving millions of dollars to Sunni insurgents in Iraq and much of the money is used to buy weapons, including shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles, according to key Iraqi officials and others familiar with the flow of cash.

Saudi government officials deny that any money from their country is being sent to Iraqis fighting the government and the U.S.-led coalition.

But the U.S. Iraq Study Group report said Saudis are a source of funding for Sunni Arab insurgents. Several truck drivers interviewed by The Associated Press described carrying boxes of cash from Saudi Arabia into Iraq, money they said was headed for insurgents.

<end>

You want justice for 9-11? you want an end to peak oil? you want relative peace in the middle east? you want our troops home now? ..Then we need to nuke Saudi Arabia... JMHO...

8. I agree, but if we nuke Saudi Arabia today we get peak oil today.
It would probably be worth it even though crude oil would probably go up to $200.00 a barrel tomorrow.
