Never before had the SCOTUS decided who would be the next president. Never before was I convinced that an election had been stolen. There were just too many signs of theft.

Never before had I seen such stupidity and meanness as the GOP staged "citizen revolt" in Dade County or the protesters outside VP Gore's home yelling "Get out of Cheney's house." (Hello, presidents and VPs don't move out until the next administration is inaugurated. Those faux protests were inane gestures and a big tip-off that we had some nasty-ass opposition.)

Never would I have imagined all this, or that the "news media" would talk perkily about how well democracy had worked.
